Rod Dreher and Ken Rogoff on the president’s Arctic grab. Iran’s Starlink smugglers. Arthur Brooks on the fall of the public intellectual. How sports betting ruined sports—and us. And much more.
And we all know how dangerously underpopulated India is...but seriously, if China and India want to increase their population, they should stop aborting all those female fetuses. It's funny how their misogyny is catching up with them!
This is because young people are the most captured by the trans agenda, which says that homosexuals are a bunch of TERFs and “genital fetishists.” They want to trans away the gay. Trans believers are the most homophobic people you’ll ever meet, because they believe every effeminate gay man is actually a woman, and every butch lesbian is actually a man.
For the love of God would someone please tell ICE to hook up some fire hoses and soak those protesters to their spineless bones? I'd buy a ticket to watch them freeze up while they try to drive away in cars turned into a block of ICE.
Perhaps there’s absolutely no correlation, but watching the US-EU turf war over Greenland reminds me of the world reaction to Reagan’s decision to put “Euromissles” in Western Europe. My brother was in the Netherlands at the time. No Reaganite then, he said the anti-American vitriol, led by the Euro confederation of pacifists, was so crushing he switched allegiances to the Gipper.. On a broader scale, I recall headlines predicting the demise of NATO. I don’t know how this will turn out. Russia is a mangy, aging bear; China an infertile sneak. But both are incredibly dangerous, especially to an EU that has been enjoying the largess of its luxury beliefs on our nickel for far too long. Reagan was no Trump and vice versa, but both were bore sighted on defense of the US.
The Dems can’t answer the ‘boys in girls’ sports’ question ? Here we again, the stupidity never ends. Maybe the Supreme Court justice who couldn’t define ‘woman’ could help them.
Could we get DJT a Claude subscription so he can at least make his crazy thoughts sound somewhat Presidential?
Dear Prime Minister Gahr Støre:
In light of the Nobel Committee's decision not to recognize my Administration's efforts in resolving no fewer than eight international conflicts, I find myself reconsidering the constraints under which I have operated. While peace will remain a guiding principle of my foreign policy, I must now weigh more heavily what serves the strategic interests of the United States.
Denmark lacks the military capacity to defend Greenland against incursion by Russia or China. Moreover, the basis for Danish sovereignty rests on historical claims of considerable antiquity—claims to which the United States might assert comparable standing.
No American president has contributed more to the strength and cohesion of the NATO alliance than I have. It is now appropriate for that alliance to demonstrate reciprocal commitment to American security interests.
It is my firm conviction that global stability cannot be assured without the United States exercising complete strategic authority over Greenland.
Respectfully,
President Donald J. Trump
Even Claude couldn't resist critisizing the letter in an editoral comment:
I should note: the original was addressed to "Jonas," which could refer to Jonas Gahr Støre (Norway's PM, whose country hosts the Nobel Committee) rather than a Danish official. If the intent was to address Denmark's leadership, that would be Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen. The conflation of Norway (Nobel) and Denmark (Greenland) in one letter is somewhat awkward regardless of how it's phrased.
Whataboutism is a rhetorical tactic, also called the "tu quoque" fallacy, where someone deflects criticism by responding to an accusation with a counter-accusation or by pointing out a similar failing in the accuser or another party, aiming to shift focus, avoid accountability, or muddy the waters rather than addressing the original point. It's a deflection strategy used in politics, arguments, and online discussions to avoid uncomfortable truths by saying, "But what about them?".
Characteristics
Deflection: Avoids engaging with the original criticism head-on.
Counter-accusation: Responds to an accusation with another accusation.
Distraction: Shifts the conversation to unrelated or irrelevant issues.
False Equivalence: Creates misleading comparisons to justify actions.
The 1951 Defense of Greenland Agreement outlines America's rights there and makes it pretty clear that Trump's stance is not new to the situation. Canada's Peter MacKay, former Minister of Justice, suggested nations in NATO cooperate and join together with Denmark and Greenland in defending North America against Russia and China. That sounds more pragmatic to me than the Europeans and Canada rustling up a few troops with which to threaten Trump.
Note how TFP has backed Trump, the Man Who Would be Putin’s Dear Leader for America, to the hilt—and Bari was sent to CBS to make it friendlier to Trump—all because Trump is Bibi’s idea of just the Messiah Gaza-destroying Israel needs. The Israeli tail wagging the American political dog, as usual.
Once again, the stupidity of the anti-Semites, Jewish conspiracy crowd is exposed. Gaza and Greenland both start with a ‘G’ - so your concoction of Israel’s control of this US prez and his foreign policies is justified? Brilliant analysis, not today or ever.
I wish FP would continue coverage of Venezuela and Iran. I feel Greenland, Epstein, and maybe sone other topics are distractions. It is hard to determine what are the important topics vs. click-bait.
"Only one Democrat out of nearly 20 seen as possible presidential contenders in 2028—Rahm Emanuel—gave a clear answer when asked by Axios if boys should be able to play girls’ sports. He said no."
Like a broken clock, even the worst scumbags can be right twice a day. I just haven't figured out what else he got right that day.
"but WHY do we suddenly feel the need to own and control it politically when we always had bases there with Denmark's blessing?" I don't know all the details of this arrangement with Greenland but I am guessing that Trump sees how fast Europe is collapsing to leftist inspired Cultural Marxism to go along with the gradual take over by Islam and Sharia. Denmark today might fall by the wayside in 5-10 years and along with it our agreements re Greenland. And then of course there are the minerals to consider.
As far as sports betting, I think what we need is more government nanny state telling us what we can and cannot do in order to protect us from ourselves.
Lookie what I get to wake up to! The prison of 2 ideas.
A tidy "either/ or." You scribblers have zero historical reference AND zero foresight. How about Euro-centrics that just can't stand anything pro American. They disdain our tourists and visitors. European leaders should figure out a deal and quit choking on the Trump chicken bone. Europe, via sea power, commandeered land all over the globe. Australia, India, the Americas, islands. I bet the protesters would NotZee that coming!
If anti-gay bias is increasing, my guess is that it isn't about gays as much as about the people they allowed to hijack their cause.
I thought the same thing...

All old news today.
The ICE situation is anyone’s guess as they are following federal orders.
How they are doing it is political fodder.

Now examine the delivery and style of any Biden speech in a similar manner.

I follow, brother.
When will Greta Thunberg's flotilla set sale to defend Greenland?
