'Support for immigration has reached a 25-year high...'. I do not believe that the United States ever stopped supporting immigration, the legal one. The keyword is missing in the entire paragraph.
OMG! OMG!! The Free Press finally used the term "Illegal Immigration" to differentiate between those that came here legally, and those who did not. About time, TFP!
Americans widely support legal immigration, and they always have. It's the illegals that we oppose, and Joe Biden (or whomever was really running the country) who threw open the borders and flooded our country with them. Unvetted, and unvax'd.
For every illegal we allowed in and provided taxpayer-funded housing and food, we SLAPPED the FACE of those who came here legally, paid the fees, learned the language, assimilated, and maybe even became naturalized US citizens. We should be ashamed.
“ If LLMs are fast becoming our main source of information”.
Seriously? I understand to use LLM’s to check minor things, something like the side effects of a medicine, which saves us the time otherwise needed to read what’s on a number of sites, but are we really going to get our facts and opinions from LLMs? Are we that stupid and lazy? How about reading some history books from different and reputed authors?
If that kind of future worries us, just remember that as we speak, idiots don’t need LLM input to believe that Hamas and the Iranian regime are good, that Western civilization is bad, that “seizing the means of production” is a viable path for the future, etc.
I agree there should, many years ago, have been an established path to citizenship. It should be pro bono as lawyers are required. So why not? People here many years simply endured poor pay, etc. Corporations loved it. Big profits. No expenses. And because we had public education their children, born into citizenship, rose. Aren’t we the most gracious wonderful people to allow all this? We looked away. All changed under Biden. Millions poured in. Who were they? Our rights, especially in sanctuary cities were stripped away. Extra money for teachers who taught English as a second ( not the main) language. Grade averages lowered in the U.C. Schools…..now becoming Spanish universities (look it up), percentage of people in Los Angeles mainly Latino. Large exodus from California as Newsom raised taxes and all disappeared. So, finally, due to Trump, we are allowed to actually be able to say ENOUGH! My grandchildren are in private schools. Nobody wants that but why take a chance on education when the teachers care only for their pensions. Go do your research on COVID as this is when it truly began. Do you think it was accidental? I am a citizen of this country and I want the same respect for us that we would find in other countries.
It is obvious you do not understand that becoming a citizen is not a free service. In fact, it is expensive. I am suggesting bro Pono...........that means free legal services. I have a Korean son in law and it was expensive, okay! All of the money going into protests could easily pay the same lawyers for their services which would enable older people, here for years, to afford citizenship.
Are you kidding? The meticulous outfits and signs and paid people are being written about in every media. This so called "dark money" could be used legally to provide a necessary service. I get the feeling you like contesting the law.
The report regarding "immigration" vs "illegal immigration" should be more clear. Most Americans support "immigration". Not much has changed there. Most Americans do NOT support illegal immigration and Trump was elected to do something about that. He has closed the border. That is a massive step. The next step is deporting violent criminals. The media is making every "immigration raid" look like a total disaster. It isn't. ICE is doing what they are hired to do. That some will get hurt etc or die (like the person who ran and fell off a roof) that is tragic. But they aren't supposed to be here in the first place. The trump admin has given illegals ample time, money and travel arrangements to self deport and come back in legally. The ones who have chosen not to take advantage of that have chosen to gamble. Sometimes you lose. To the people who have been here for over a decade, have no other criminal record other than combining in to the US illegally, have jobs and "pay taxes", they should be given a way to stay that includes paying a fine and going to the end of the line for a green card. No special privileges but there should be a path.
Were we, as citizens, allowed to weigh in on the 20 million illegal immigrants that invaded over the last four years? As a former health care provider in a rural area, farm towns are being bankrupted by unpaid hospital bills, schools that have to teach in two languages, and law enforcement struggling to deal with residents that bring their rogue habits with them — drugs, murder, robbery, rape. What a trade off when green cards and proper electronic identification could solve this problem.
AI bots learn from the data fed to them. The fact that Grok went full Nazi says more about the source of data than about AI itself. The people behind Grok should be held accountable.
Our public schools need a teacher overhaul. Between gender identity and antisemitism, I am glad my kids graduated from public school already. Next up is our universities, but Trump is already pushing back by withholding funds. Still a very long way to go.
The Jeffrey Epstein list will have all politicians (Democrats and Republicans) and non-politicians (ie. Hollywood) names on it. Hence the squashing of the investigation. It would turn the world upside down, or maybe in this case, right-side up.
TFP should distinguish between illegal and legal immigration. Trump, et al are trying to get illegals out. If you are legal, then come in the front door. I am happy that the border with Mexico is closed.
Do we have to bet on EVERYTHING now? Can't believe there are odds on when a recession will take place. The economic apparatus has to avoid a recession, not encourage it.
This is to buttress Evans' post. Read Evans' post under "oldest first:
The National Education Association (NEA), the nation’s largest teachers' union, held its annual convention in Portland, Oregon, on July 10, 2025.
Far from prioritizing the education of America’s children, the NEA’s agenda was a parade of partisan resolutions, attacks on political opponents, and a clear alignment with the far-left wing of the Democratic Party.
The NEA decided to "not use, endorse, or publicize any materials from the Anti-Defamation League (ADL)," an organization founded to combat antisemitism. The measure called for the union to stop using ADL materials about the Holocaust and antisemitism as well as ADL statistics or programs.
Teachers and protestors were lined up wearing keffiyehs, waving Palestinian flags, wearing shirts accusing Jews of genocide, and eager to speak against anything Jewish.
Why single out a group dedicated to fighting hate? Because the NEA is one of the largest purveyors of anti-Semitism in our country.
With antisemitism at record high levels, it is profoundly disturbing that a group of NEA activists would brazenly attempt to further isolate their Jewish colleagues and push a radical, antisemitic agenda on students.
Another resolution also took aim at parental rights. In response to the Supreme Court’s Mahmoud v. Taylor ruling, which allows parents to opt their children out of gender ideology instruction, the NEA adopted a business item signaling its intent to keep pushing such content in classrooms. This defiance of parental choice shows a union more interested in indoctrination than education.
The NEA also supported students’ "right to dissent and organize against Trump’s policies" and "against ICE raids and deportations."
The NEA’s political bias is not new. Nearly all its political contributions go to Democrats every election cycle, making it less a union and more a money-laundering operation for the Democratic Party. With over $380 million in annual revenue, the NEA has plenty of resources to push its agenda.
The NEA’s priorities are so misaligned that in 2019 it rejected a resolution to "rededicate itself to the pursuit of increased student learning in every public school in America." The NEA explicitly refused to prioritize student learning. Instead, it has quadrupled down on its war on education, turning classrooms into activist training grounds.
The consequences of this politicization are clear. Only about a quarter of American eighth graders are proficient in math, and reading scores are similarly dismal.
TFP, why are you regurgitating that deceptive CBS news story about the idiot that died due to their own actions in the California cannabis farm raid!? I come to you so that I do not have to be lied to my the MSM! Please stop.
How many here illegally are not employed ( and the total who work in agriculture( things we EAT)? How many here illegally receive govt benefits: list the benefits both descriptively and the line item cost ( both individually and in the aggregate)? HAS TFP ever researched or analyzed or published these FACTS ( no opining or editorializing required)? Journalism 101
“Support for immigration has reached a 25-year high, with 79 percent of Americans now viewing it as a “good thing,” according to a new Gallup poll.”
Bullshit!
You aren’t phrasing the Epstein thing correctly:
Nobody cares about the man; we want the pedophiles prosecuted and removed from their corrupted (by blackmail) positions of power
I don’t miss an episode of Conversations with Coleman. His podcast rocks!
“…went full Nazi.” Umm…wouldn’t “full Nazi” be more than just words, Oliver? It seems to me you just went full hyperbole.
Never go full Nazi ... or Retard

Exactly. And it's insulting that FP thinks we're too stupid to notice.
Sick of these dishonest folks conflating legal and illegal immigration.

"Are we that stupid and lazy?"
Do I really need to answer that question?
I didn’t understand the question. I didn’t read it either.

There was and there is.
More than a million folks a year become LEGAL citizens.
Illegals should go home or be deported go to the back of the line and do it LEGALLY!!!!

Obviously you don't understand.
What money is going into protsts?
How would you channel that money to pro-bono services?
Are you kidding? The meticulous outfits and signs and paid people are being written about in every media. This so called "dark money" could be used legally to provide a necessary service. I get the feeling you like contesting the law.
Judy what are you talking about.
How would you divert that money to pro-bono services?
What "law" am I contesting?
Thanks, Evans, for the proper summation! Sorry we can’t “like” you because you dare to speak the truth.
