I am so very thankful for Bari Weiss and every person who writes for the Free Press. As an avid reader of political commentary all my adult life - I am now 69 - I have never read such honest, clear minded and thoughtful writing. You were all sent by God for such a time as this. Do not be deterred. Do not stop. Know that your words have an impact. Thank you!

Where were these glassy eyed, foam at the mouth, brutal, antisemites, when Isis was murdering, torturing and raping the Yazidis and anybody that wasn't Sunni Muslim? The ISIS Muslims raped women, little boys and girls and men. They were equal opportunity rapists.

Where were these noble antisemite demonstrators when the religion of peace in Iran was murdering Bahais by the hundreds? Where were they when the Sudanese Muslims were raiding Christian villages murdering everybody except small children and women who they sold into slavery?

This is selective outrage directed at only one group and that is Jews. I thought left wing loons were Woke and all about DEI. Maybe these rioters need to include DEI counselors in each of their hate chapters all over the US.

The biggest lie is that they hate the Jews because of Israel. As a group, the "Palestinians" have been anti-Semites before there was an Israel, following the lead of their "spiritual leader" The Grand Mufti, who begged his buddy Hitler to murder all the Jews living in the Middle East.

Sliding academic standards: where to begin? I spent last night talking with a friend who teaches pharmacy students at a prestigious university. She said it’s horrific what they don’t know and the faculty are pressured to inflate grades and pass students who deserve to fail. There are pharmacy students out there right now filling jobs who literally don’t know what an antihistamine is. One such student went on to give a person the wrong medication for their 2 year old. People will die because of this. At another university, a colleague says that the old standards of deadlines and expectations is getting flak as being “white supremacist pedagogy,” and they’re supposed to do away with pesky things like standards and timeliness. Professors hate their jobs and aren’t given the license to do them. Students grow stupid and entitled. We are entering a world of pain.

Where the first hand to always go up will ask "Will this be on the final?" American universities long ago abandoned academics for Marxist indoctrination. The first institution to fall.

As a result we now have two consecutive generations of young Americans who are profoundly ignorant of basic adult life, let alone any marketable skills, while brainwashed in toxic ideologies and deeply arrogant and narcissistic. Many are drowning in student debt for the privilege of such conditioning. Then they expect the people who actually do the work that keeps the nation moving to pay off their loans for useless degrees in contrived cis-gender grievance studies.

A majority of Zoomers (18 - 24) openly support and embrace Hamas terrorism and the slaughter of Israeli children.

Mine attended school from 1993 until 2010. Attendance was ruthlessly enforced because failure to do so meant the district might lose a dime. My guess is that the numbers are just misreported now. Same is true of crime stats which rely on data from individual law enforcement agencies (usually police departments, sheriff's departments and university police departments). These departments understand what crime data will get them funded or defunded and so report accordingly. Same issue with Covid data.

Expand full comment

I might suggest that these professors take a stand. Yes they may lose their jobs. But the alternative is being complicit in destroying what is left of the credibility of our degree system. I'd like to think I would take the high road...but that is easy to say from over here where I don't have to make that choice.

Expand full comment

Yeah, it’s not that easy. These are people who have put 20 plus years of their lives and probably well over 100k invested to get these jobs. They had to go through years of interviews and beat out hundreds of applicants. They moved their families, who depend on them, for the job. Not to mention that many academics are unemployable if you don’t have an academic job. If you don’t have the financial support system to get creative and try something else out, it’s a death sentence for your family. This is why, when push comes to shove, most will be quiet and do what they’re told although they don’t like it. Faculty are in a terrible place. It’s the admin who must hold the line, but they don’t because all colleges need money and ultimately it’s the kids and their parents holding the purse strings.

Expand full comment

Oh, I fully understand why many people in difficult situations make bad choices. And as I said, I don't know that I would have the strength to do it either. However, I would know that I am then part of the problem.

As for the admins....there I disagree. Colleges have had an ENORMOUS jump in the number of admin, which is likely a leading cause to the cost increase. I have read about schools with nearly 1:1 ratios of students to admins. I more and more believe that the admins (at least some of them) are the actual issue. The students aren't going to leave just because you won't give them A's. And even if they do, there are more right behind them. I could theorize on why this is being done. But I do not believe that it is just because they are worried about mad students.

Islam is a supremacist religion whose only goal to dominate any society that it seeps into. In the Koran it says that all unbelievers should be killed. Of course it makes an exception for what it calls “People of the Book” which are identified as Christians and Jews. But Christians and Jews must first recognize the supremacy of Islam, submit to it and finally must pay the “Jizya” tax. If you are unwilling to do this, then you are killed. Any Muslim who says this isn't true is lying, which by the way, is permissible and even encouraged in Islam if in doing so advances Islam. Islam is incompatible with western secular democracy, but most liberals and progressives don't get this until about 10 seconds before being beheaded.....

To the leftists on this site who share this ignorance about Islam I highly recommend Raymond Ibrahim’s book Sword And Scimitar.

The objective of Hamas is to eliminate Israel. Raping, beheading and killing are a means to that end. The so-called Palestinians in Gaza elected Hamas. They are not civilized enough to have a country or to live next door to history’s most persecuted people. Israel should do itself and the world the service of eliminating the government of these so-called Palestinians.

It's not surprising to see Muslims ripping down hostage posters. We hold them to very low standards of ethics and morality. Murder and deceit are part and parcel of this odious ideology.

But a recent poll suggesting that 60% of Americans under 22 support Hamas is quite disturbing. Even if it's inaccurate, how could they have found 600 out of 1000 young people who would admit to supporting murderers?

We’re teaching them that escalation, whether emotional (Twitter mobs) or physical (“mostly peaceful protests”), is a winning strategy.

The story about grade inflation realy is one of major ills plaguing our universities. Good reason for it is that we have been conditioned that everyone is "exceptional" when in reality such people are very rear and majority of people are average which is good.

One of the reasons why grade inflation contiues, is insistence of many employers to see grade transcripts, which is beyond stupid in itself, because due to grade inflation grades have become minigles. One way to fix this, is simply to stop issuing grade transcripts after graduation, and grade (real ones) should only matter if person is prosuing academic career and wants to do PHD or something like that. For normal careers, companies should be able to provide their own evaluations, what good future employees will be. Also for majority of jobs, there shoulnt be requisite to have college diploma at all.

People join stupid causes IMHO based on a complete useless feelings of who they are. No confidence to think for themselves, no joy in being an individual, and a completely stupid belief that by joining evil, the evil will accept you and not come for you. Wrong, evil will always destroy those who help put it in power. This calba women thinks she is trendy, but in reality she and her so called friends are the sad result of what has happened to so many youth of today. No respect for self and thinking I am only good if others accept me and the more stupid the cause, the better. You celebrate children, mothers, families, and old folks being killed, tortured, raped, be-headed and think it is in the cause of freedom. Hello stupid person, Hamas much like the PLO only want the people to suffer as it gives them propaganda. Neither of these groups are capable of running any territory that benefits the average person. Their own people are useful for breeding killers for the cause and showing the suffering to blame others. Evil must be destroyed and that includes Hez and the shit head old smelly guy in Iran.

For Kendrick, sorry you had to learn the goals today is for schools and colleges to actually dumb down the population. Stupid people and brain washed are much easier to control. Nothing else would explain why we are supposedly educating people who have no clue of the world, their own country, and are going to be some lazy ass complaining employees until they are fired. Expecting the teachers unions or college administrators to have a back bone is like asking Joe if he's honest. Of course, as long as you pay me.

As for anyone who could support the Hamas situation after interviews with survivors like Sofie, you really have to wonder if we should adopt Canada's EOL based on stupidity?

If the GOP wins Congress again, I think it would be wise to have primetime hearings to show the link between the student loan programs and the largess and fraud at many colleges in the country. The goal should not be to cancel student debt but rather set funding based on school results. The grade inflation article shows the pattern. The minority gets a loan, is taught nothing, and gets good grades since they don't know anything or have a major that can't translate to a career that pays a good living. The student then has no income, can't pay the loan, becomes more bitter, and needs the crushing debt taken off their shoulders. The school that did this is riding high as they have the money and spend it on administrators whose job is to keep the grades up and the indoctrination factory continuing.

One can't see that more with the "educated" Palestinian woman tearing down posters. I hope someone makes this an issue next year and does something about it in 2025. It's time for this money laundering to end.

Student loans should not be backed by the government. If a bank or lending company wishes to take a chance on some Gender Studies major paying back her $100K, it's their funeral. Should not be put on the taxpayer.

I used to think Gender Studies degrees would not result in paying jobs too. Turns out they result in paying jobs in HR, school administration, unions, and DEI organizations. They are running (and ruining) the lives of many people.

Expand full comment

Yes, that's true. Luckily, things may be changing. I read recently in the WSJ, I think, that DEI departments at private companies are being quietly downsized or eliminated. There seems to be a recognition that (1) it's a total waste of money in these uncertain times, and (2) it angers the employees and stockholders.

Expand full comment

If the endowment isn't big enough, but they inform their alumni of that discipline, just maybe their donations would increase.

Then the paying students end up subsidizing the deadbeats. These universities for the most part have little sense of reality. To them, money is an abstract thing.

In 2021, Bard College, a small woke school in New York state, received a $500 million donation from the Soros Foundation. They published a gleeful announcement, crowing about how useful this money was going to be, all the wonderful things they were going to build and do. Not a word about any strings attached. Not a single sentence about "but what did we do to deserve this?" Obviously Soros has a political agenda with his money; he didn't just give it to them randomly.

These people just don't live in the real world.
