I would like to request transcripts of TFP podcasts interviews, or simply a synopsis of the conversations. Not everyone is walking around - or working (!) - with headphones sticking from their ears. Some of us prefer to read. Thank you in advance!

A new poll shows 86% of Democrats think the US is worse off now than before Trump 47 was elected. It’s really not that surprising folks think that. Half the country can’t define a woman, think men can get pregnant and that men should be able to compete with women in sports because they really are not different. They think money grows on trees, illegal immigrants who murder, rape, commit other crimes, live on welfare and subsidized housing or embezzle billions of tax payer funds are just regular ole family folk who make this country great. Why wouldn’t they think 9% inflation is better for you than 2.7%, $4000 reduction in household buying power makes you appreciate what you had more and that China is a more virtuous and generous economic partner than the US. Child and slave labor and other humanitarian concerns are so yesterday. And of course China is far more trustworthy with your intellectual property and national security. When you can convince a team of medical doctors that men can give birth, I’m convinced people will believe anything.

The common thread in leftist ideology is the impulse to false generosity. Namely, giving away that which is not yours. Makes them feel righteous because they don't recognize their thievery.

In this case, American citizenship is not to be tossed to the crowd like the Royals used to throw coins of the realm.

Now that Greenland is resolved let's turn back to the massive fraud in minny, Cali and elsewhere. One would think that morally righteous folx like Timmy, Illy and Elli would want a full proctological audit of the minny books to exonerate them from any rumors of wrong doing or incompetence. Or will they Stonewall. And also refuse to honor subpoenas like another dynamic duo. TFP : a reminder of who went to jail for ignoring subpoenas seems to be in order. Those of us who truly support the rule of law want it enforced equally and consistently and without political bias. That includes Jan 6, the summer of love and now the winter of love in Minneapolis ( those in the streets who did more than carry signs or screech committed crimes but how many will be prosecuted; maybe TFP can get counselor rubenfeld to set forth what a protesters can or cannot do on sidewalks and on streets and doing more than shouting)

Horn's story about Henry Knox is excellent reading. He not only saved the siege of Boston, but likely the bid for independence as well.

Using the phrase TACO in reference to Greenland? Has the Free Press never heard of asking for more than you want so you can end up with what you really wanted? Classic negotiation strategy. Plus, I believe Trump, knowing how the media works, calculatedly makes exaggerated statements to draw fire away from some of the things his subordinates are trying to accomplish.

"Has the Free Press never heard of asking for more than you want so you can end up with what you really wanted?"

Sadly, TFP writers have never read The Art of The Deal.

While the Supremes consider the question that made Justice Ketanji famous ( what is a woman), there is another important question that has significant implications but will never merit a legal case: what is citizenship? And does it matter? I raise this since today's TFP has a primary focus on Davos and globalism.

How often do we hear people proclaim they ate global citizens or citizens of the world. Why do they do so? Are we not all citizens of the nations in which we are born ( or in which our parents are citizens). One can of course become a citizen of another nation by complying with whatever that nation requires to obtain citizenship. As a citizen one presumably is subject to the laws of that country and enjoys the rights granted to that country's citizens ( assuming the country believes in individual rights of course).

But what are the rights and obligations of the global citizen? There's no rule book. No constitution.

I believe these questions are very relevant especially today when the subject of mass migration is omnipresent. Do we need borders in a world in which global citizenship is deemed by many to be the ultimate goal ( as we strive to become planet Star Trek) ? What are the goals and objectives of the Globalists who seek more power? Is this a bit of a zero sum game for the US, ie, the US must have less power ( and wealth) to realize the utopian vision?

I will end with the question i pose often to friends and relatives: FIRST AND FOREMOST, do you consider yourself a citizen of the US or a citizen of the world? The first and foremost phraseology is important because it goes to the heart on one's ideology and beliefs.

Steve G's avatar

Anyone who shouts “open borders” should be immediately identified as an idiot and shipped off to the village that’s missing them.

And don’t ignore her attempt the other day to justify HI gun control laws by seemingly supporting the post-Civil War gun laws against blacks. Talk about twisted logic! “Yes, but at the time they were supported.” “And found to be completely unconstitutional.” “Yes, but they were implemented!”

I pay attention to everything she says or writes ( like EF HUTTON ( for those old enough) but just the opposite ( to be aware of how dangerous she and those she represents are)

Like Kamala Harris, Ketanji Brown Jackson is a vacuous nincompoop clearly too dumb for the office she holds. She is the poster child for why DEI hiring for such posts must go the way of the dodo bird, or else the republic will.

Clarity Seeker's avatar

And yet there are many AWFLs and others whose white guilt will not let go.

Rufus T. Firefly's avatar

Actually, the legions of deranged AWFLs running amok across the Fruited Plain pose the greatest threat we face to the survival of our republic and of Western civilization in general. They make lemmings look rational.

This is so well said…and probably nothing that most people even considered. Even without the topic of globalization one could ask what citizenship in the USA means. I’ve seen so many comments from people who don’t believe in borders nd that everyone is welcome here with or without citizenship. In that case they never believed in our nation because a nation is nothing without borders. Incredibly sad that this is a belief amongst so many people. It just means a lack of respect to everything that was built before them.

Lanny's avatar

Superb and thoughtful comment.

So often I get more from the comments than the articles.

I’m not sure what to make of today’s “issue?” Feel like I got more news from the comments section and it’s early! I’d love for TFP to shed light on what Abigail Spanberger announced or did at/after her inauguration. Specifically, that contracts $100k or less will go to woman/minority owned businesses?? And tuition for illegals!?? Devils in the details and I don’t know what those are, so looking to the ‘news’ or maybe the comments to enlighten me.

Rufus T. Firefly's avatar

Pretending to be a moderate during an election, then shifting the rudder to hard-left upon inauguration is a tried-and-true Democrat Party tactic. It's been done so many times, folks at TFP probably didn't notice the news value of the bait-and-switch Spamburger played on the good people of the Old Dominion. Virginians who voted GOP in 2021 because Terry McAuliffe accidentally told the truth about his utter contempt for the idea that parents should have a say in what their kids are taught in public schools, apparently forgot when they went to the polls last November. They gave Dems their trifecta. Now, they are going to get what they voted for, good and hard.

Robert Hill's avatar

Spanberger got power with Democrats in control of Va and they went full cultural Marxist. Slow but sure and now suddenly, Democrats are revealing themselves in the open.

Don’t worry, the new AG will p*ss on their kids’ graves! Oh, wait…she’s not an R…never mind.
