"... The two suspects were later found in their car, dead by suicide. The shooting is being investigated as a hate crime. ... "

But yet the synagogue's that were desecrated in New York, Chicago, and other places were *just* 'vandalism', and the people attacked and killed were just in the way...

Karyn if you keep going you might have a career in the MSM

😉😉😉😉😉

Exactly what you hear on CNN.

KARYN TRUITT's avatar

LOL Thank you! But I will keep my current job. I enjoy the challenge here. and It is a fantastic company to work for.

Lanny's avatar

Just know that with analysis like that MSNOW would welcome you with open arms.

"The national average price of gasoline has surged 56 percent to roughly $4.52 per gallon since the U.S. struck Iran in late February. That’s up from $2.89 at the start of the year, representing one of the sharpest fuel price spikes in recent memory."

Have we forgotten the Dullard from Delaware™ so soon?

KARYN TRUITT's avatar

I will say, that the premium gas I had to fill my tank with yesterday, was $4.7789, up about 70cents from the worst Biden era gas.

And yes, I filled my tank. Here in the middle of Kansas, we are seeing a run of very bad weather, and I do not want to get caught with anything but a full tank.

Remember, remember...'s avatar

The highest average price during the Dullard Administration reached $5.07 in June of 2022 and it would be higher in today's dollars thanks to his inflation.

Wokeness has morphed into alarm and desperation. Envy, entitlement and resentment fuel “something worse”. The times have become unsettling if not potentially dangerous. The ends justify any means and extremes seek the cause. AI, Israel, the Jews, individuality, capitalism; you name it. For the party out of power retrieving “Power” has become an absolute. They literally talk out loud of overthrowing our Republic to establish a “Majoritarian “ one party rule. Not all history suggests “they” will survive. Of course “they” all believe “ they” will. Jacobin times may be upon us. Beware of the new Robespierre.

Remember, remember...'s avatar

Why is there an Anthropic advert (or ANY advert) on an article I paid to read?

Remember, remember...'s avatar

Republicans should pack the Court with people who actually believe in the Bill of Rights and the rule of law before the next blue wave hits.

Clarity Seeker's avatar

The Rubenfeld and Cowan articles should be read in tandem. And every person running for congress or senate should be asked what specifically they want the govt to do if they get the power they so desperately crave . And with follow up questions whether they like it or not. Issue by issue. Ultimately it becomes clearer every day that they really believe the answer to everything is more people working for govt and massive redistribution including reparations. I have old friends who tell me the US us so rich we can afford it all but never an analysis of what happens when the redistribution should occur. Many stupidly see it as " we can just print more money". Just like Boston Universitys most famous economics major and her bolshevik uncle who never produced anything in his life

Remember, remember...'s avatar

"Boston Universitys most famous economics major and her bolshevik uncle"

Let me guess... Might that be Liawatha (a.k.a. Spreading Bull) and her uncle Bernie, the multi-millionaire Socialist who believes that there are too many choices of underarm deodorant?

We’re in economic and social quick sand with no long term solution or the fortitude to quit moving and survive. I don’t think it ends….or rather grinds down well. W Euro, here we come. Misery and company and all that.

PS - on a rather side note, when noting that a Brit had one the PGA golf championship, wasn’t the least surprised to see he looked nothing like a British man. Sort of the French soccer team.

Again, what happened to the Tyler Cowen I knew decades ago? Does a modicum of fame turn you into a vacuous both-sider?

Musk turned X to the right?!?! No, he dismantled its Biden/Fauci censorship machine. Allowed Free Speech. Woke ushered in gay rights and eliminated corporate racism?!?! What planet are you on? These were accomplished many years ago. If anything Woke was anti-gay inasmuch as it labeled, for instance, a lesbian who refused to have sex with a “trans woman” as “transphobic”.

I used to admire GMU, but have not followed it for years. Has it followed you down the path to mediocrity?

I tried; but Tyler goes on the “don’t bother to read” list.

That’s up from $2.89 at the start of the year, representing one of the sharpest fuel price spikes in recent memory.” A problem TFP has is a short memory. To state “sharpest fuel price spikes in recent memory” infers that TFP’s memory is only extends a couple of years. Under Biden fuel prices rose and the press reported the transient nature of the prices and inflation. No mention that “up from $2.89” was a result of Trump’s loosening regulations and “drill baby drill” policies and markedly down from Biden’s $5.01 national average. And lest we all forget, oil is a worldwide commodity that a President can affect the price but not control the price.

Dave Osborne's avatar

So true. I looked it up myself when I read the TFP garbage

Tom Sparks's avatar

You beat me to it. (Thank you). Trump also pressured Saudi Arabia to pump more. Gasoline prices are back to where they were in 2008, so in real terms something like down 40%.

And lest anyone accuse me of cherry picking 2008, there were many years where it bumped along at these levels.

Pretty thoughtless herd-following by TFP.

Since 2015 I have repeatedly referred to Trump as a crass, undisciplined, self-destructive, narcissistic, megalomaniac.

I still do.

And yet, I more strongly support him today than at any point in the last decade.

I love his policies even as I hate his demeanor.

BUT I will say it again…

Trump has made a major and perhaps irreversible error.

The decision to stop military action while we negotiated forfeited the initiative to the enemy.

Any military commander can tell you that such a forfeiture can frequently be fatal.

I don’t know if the President can recover.

A majority of Americans are weak willed even if Trump is not.

A majority of Americans are so averse to sacrifice that they bridle at any short-term loss for any long term gain no matter how important it may be.

A majority of Americans reflexively hate and will do almost anything to undermine what the President does.

Can Trump turn this around.

I don’t know.

BUT I’m in this with him for the long haul.

Clarity Seeker's avatar

My hope is that there is more to be seen than we know. If not eventually we shall call him Barack Hussein Trump if we get the 2.0 version

Lanny's avatar

Trump has proven me wrong several times.

I hope this is one more time he is right and I am wrong.

Clarity Seeker's avatar

I hope we are both worrying for nothing but we know trump loves to be flattered and feted w praise ( including by himself 😉)

Rocket J. Squirrel's avatar

His huge ego works in our favor because it makes him determined to go down in history as one of the best, most effective presidents ever. So, here's hoping "no nukes for Iran" doesn't turn out to be an Obamaesqe "red line".

Rufus T. Firefly's avatar

Margaret Thatcher would have told Trump some weeks ago that this was no time to "go wobbly." Whether he would have heeded her advice or called her names for daring to criticize him is anybody's guess. I'm no Trumpista, but I applaud him for being the first president in 47 years who has actually tried to deal with the threat posed by Iran. But he needs to finish the job, however painful it will be, or there will be bloody Hell to pay down the road.

Clarity Seeker's avatar

100%. And now he owns it and needs to be reminded of that fact constantly

🫡 Me too!

" ... that cast doubt on some of Kristof’s most explosive claims... "

Doubt? DOUBT??

When you are *claiming* in 'truth' that something happened that is literally (biologically AND physiologically) IMPOSSIBLE, it puts your entire story, yes *story* not journalism - STORY into the realm of lies. A hit piece. Absolute BULLSHIT.
