The numbers are staggering. Trump’s 2025 financial disclosure reportedly showed more than $1.4 billion in income from family crypto ventures. Reuters has estimated that the Trump family generated roughly $2.3 billion in profit from Trump-related crypto ventures, while investors collectively lost billions. The Trump meme coin itself is down roughly 98% from its peak.

Trump and insiders cashed out while the coin was flying high, and ordinary buyers, many of them his own supporters, were left underwater. You do not do that to your supporters. Or maybe you do, if you stopped seeing them as supporters and started seeing them as liquidity.

Then add the rest: foreign licensing deals, branded merchandise, private access clubs, Trump businesses receiving at least $7.8 million from foreign governments during his first presidency, a $400 million luxury jet from Qatar being used as Air Force One, and now a reported $500 million no-bid contract for a White House ballroom routed through an office exempt from normal competitive bidding rules. Even if every lawyer in Washington can explain why each piece is technically permissible, the optics are rancid.

At some point, the phrase is not complicated: this looks like pay-to-play.

Maybe some of this is technically legal. Maybe some of it is hidden behind disclosures, LLCs, licensing agreements, trusts, “donations,” and third-party managed accounts. Fine. But legal is not the same thing as clean or ethically defensible.

Meanwhile, young people in this country cannot gain traction in their careers. Homes are out of reach for millions. Costs keep climbing. The federal government spends trillions more than it brings in. Interest costs on the debt have now surpassed defense spending. And then people act shocked when figures like Zohran Mamdani and the Democratic Socialists suddenly become fashionable. What exactly did we think would happen in a country where insiders get rich, the middle class gets squeezed, and the young are told to lower their expectations and accept permanent precarity?

I do not want to hear another word from anyone still complaining about Nancy Pelosi using her position as Speaker of the House to benefit from privileged information while shrugging this off. If Pelosi’s stock trading was corrupt, then this is meaningfully worse, because the presidency carries vastly more power, more visibility, more foreign-policy leverage, and more market-moving authority.

The standard cannot be: “corruption is corruption only when the other team does it.”

I voted for Trump. I understand why millions of people did. But defending the country means defending standards, not personalities. The presidency should not become a family monetization platform, a licensing engine, a crypto pump, a luxury access business, or a revolving door for foreign “gifts.”

Public office is supposed to be stewardship, not a private equity event.

Let’s acknowledge politics and its participants are corrupt by nature. It takes quite an ego to be a politician telling everyone how great you are and how you are the one who can make our lives better. Power makes one more corruptible as insider knowledge is temptation. The pay isn’t great and they believe they deserve more for their selfless service and sacrifice. So they figure out ways to compensate themselves even as some is deferred through lucrative lobbying or consulting contracts in return for their favors. Is Trump getting richer as a result of his presidency? Yes. Did Clinton and Obama? Yes. Did Bidens family? Yes. But at least Trump is doing it out in the open in the light of day. We are getting our asses kicked by China over raw minerals, antibiotics and more. So if he cut’s a great deal for America on raw minerals and his family gets a taste, cool. I’m no Trump flag waver and his constant rambling grates on my last nerve, but behind all that nonsense, he gets shit done that needs to get done.

@danlinnaeus on X in 2 long detailed posts on the Trump and Lutnick families are enriching themselves ( more than 8.9Billion$$ thus far )

i’ll post the links but the documentation is meticulous

https://x.com/danlinnaeus/status/2072232463716208784?s=61

Dan fleshes out

“There is a critical thread NYT briefly describes but moves past which is the subject of this post: Skyline Builders. This is about the specific Nasdaq vehicle that KAZ Resources is reverse merging into, who it’s in bed with, how it was developed, by whom and who profited.

A few headline items that should not get buried.”

he lists seven serious problems

“First, Skyline Builders is a Cayman owned Hong Kong public construction company that had major lines of revenue from joint ventures with a Chinese state owned enterprise and a sanctioned entity, Geotech Engineering and Geotech Holdings designated by OFAC as linked to Chen Zhi and the Prince Group transnational criminal organization.

Second, ASP-QLE filings show those JV relationships and balances remained in the acquired Skyline after QLE took control under Mann. That makes the Kaz transaction agreement’s HK Disposition covenant of no Hong Kong or China operations or related liabilities at closing a national security and sanctions cleanup question.

Third, the company is not merely a convenient shelf that Kaz Resources used to back up into Nasdaq through a reverse merger, but was instead brought to IPO and listed by the same Trump linked actors NYT investigates, Revere-Dominari et al.

Fourth, six months before the IPO six opaque shareholders bought about 27 percent of Skyline for around $1.73 million total share value from the company’s founder. That valuation ballooned to somewhere between $70 and over $100 million after the IPO before the price crashed around 97%.

Fifth, the July dump last year raises the question of whether the six unloaded because they knew what QLE was going to do to the share count in August that would have brought them over the sub reporting 5%, which would be trading ahead of a known, price-relevant structural event.

Sixth, one of those six Skyline pre IPO buyers recurs in another Revere-Dominari deal. That and similar deals show that the whole offshore shell owner of Hong Kong based smallcaps brought to public modus operandi is a signature of the Revere-Dominari work history.

Seventh, this March the House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party opened an investigation into three microcap underwriters, Dominari Securities and Revere Securities being two of them, over their role in Chinese company IPOs used in “ramp-and-dump” schemes, flagging Skyline specifically.

Bottom line upfront, this is now a story about federally backed US strategic policy touching critical minerals and national laboratory uranium technology being routed through a balance sheet tethered to a Chinese State Owned Enterprise and an OFAC sanctioned transnational criminal organization.”

On Trump’s Self - Dealing: Is it Legal?

PARASITE OR PATRIOT?

Let me address this writer by using phenomenology. It is a means of analysis. What you do is choose the themes (meaning units) in the narrative. So, these are my selections.

Venture

Crypto

Disclosure

Sons

Speculative

Collectibles

Assets

Do you see a pattern here? It is called the “essence” of the article/narrative/analysis. And what do we see? How about “taking a chance.” Versus. PARASITES.

How many of you are in the Stock Market?

How many of you have a will?

How many of you have bequeathed your estate (large or small) to your sons and daughters?

How many of you collect, coins, jewelry, cars, copper, gold, silver, collectibles (know to increase in value), art, etc.?

How many of you gamble?

Do you publicize any/all of these activities? Do you call the IRS, send them a letter, disclose EVERYTHING?

Are you a millionaire, billionaire, net worth over or under a million but more than $1/2 million, 100,000., 50k, 25k, etc. It doesn’t matter the amount here, it is not the amount, it is the ASPIRATION to make more, do more, be more, bequeath more, in the best interests of your family.

ASPIRATION PEOPLE. ASPIRATION.

The AMERICAN DREAM!!!!!!!!!

Now, what is the difference between YOU and President Trump?

Yep. President.

What does the law say about Presidents and Vice Presidents: Financials?

Now, picture this. For 8 years running (if not more ) you, your CHILDREN, and your family and friends, were investigated, legally, by the IRS, ethically, morally, and all of this was PUBLIC. You were accused and in some instances, LAWGATE created scenarios supported by sleazy judges and lawyers, and juries dead set on imprisoning you and them. The FULL WEIGHT OF THE GOVERNMENT AND LEGAL SYSTEM OF ONE PARTY WAS APPLIED TO YOU AND YOURS. As if you were a country, in essence. Manhattan Legal wanted to see you in prison. You were hated by ONE PARTY who used whatever means necessary to see you either die or imprisoned.

Ever hear the phrase: “the best revenge is living well”? How does one take his/her life back after such an overwhelming LEGAL VICTIMIZATION?

How many of you have been called in front of the FBI? IRS? Law? Criminal Law? Any person of moderate means has had some sort of battle with one of these after a meaningful and hard working life.

Or, are you a parasite? One who doesn’t pay taxes? One who commits crimes but doesn’t get caught? Anyone who speaks his/her mind in a free society but has the GOVERNMENT COME DOWN ON YOU WITH A VENGEANCE? Remind of you something?

The last sentence of this author’s narrative: “… democrats …forget the fact that not long ago…their zeal (to imprison him by any means necessary, along with his sons, supporters, etc.) launched (sic) the wave that created this (financial disclosure).”

I say GOOD FOR TRUMP.

Finally, consider this.

What was the Clintons’ net worth or the Obama’ net worth when they came into office.

And what was their NET WORTH WHEN THEY LEFT OR NOW? HOW ABOUT THE CLINTON INITIATIVE. OBAMA INITIATIVES? Were they VENTURES? HOW DID EACH OF THEIR DAUGHTERS COME OUT AFTER THEIR PRESIDENCIES? MILLIONAIRES BEQUEATHED?

In conclusion. Business minds are a different breed versus parasitic minds. Individuals who work hard, aspire to greatness, to financial wealth, are special minds.

Lazy parasitic minds look for what’s free. They are entitled. They live off the minds of those businesswoman and men. The Clintons were parasitic as were the Obamas. They did well as parasites. Both families accumulated GREAT WEALTH by the nature of their presidencies not by venturing or sacrificing or gambling their aspirations and taking chances. They went into office KNOWING THAT IS THE WAY TO GET WEALTHY. AND THEY DID.

Trump came into office WEALTHY. HE DID NOT NEED THE PRESIDENCY TO MAKE HIM SO. HE WAS NOT A PARASITE.

HE HAS MADE THE WEALTHY WEALTHIER. He has made the common woman or man wealthier if they have 401Ks or investments small or large.

AS A FINAL CAVEAT: I will use my heritage. Poor immigrants, who worked their way from NOTHING with hard work and ASPIRED TO MAKE THE NEXT AND NEXT AND NEXT GENERATIONS WEALTHY. BLOOD, SWEAT, TEARS. With dignity. 24/7. NEVER ASK FOR OR NEEDED A HAND OUT.

My FATHER WHO ASPIRED, GAMBLED ON HIS OWN HARD WORK, HIS ETHICS, HIS DIGNITY, FOR HIS FAMILY. HE DIDN’T WIN THE LOTTERY. HE WORKED HIS ASS OFF AND BECAME WEALTHY. THE AMERICAN DREAM.

The author of this article evidences undertones of lazyleftdemcomms who aspire to be PARASITES. THEY WALLOW IN THE IDEA OF GETTING ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING FOR FREE. That way they take no chances. They don’t have to. They wait for the free stuff. RAND CALLS IT: “AN ORGY OF SELF-SACRIFICE.” In fact, he evidences ENVY - THE ROOT OF THE PARASITIC COMMUNISTIC MINDED.

The constant media attention on all that is Trump has created the most transparent administration in history. Add to this is Trump’s constant communication with Americans via his Truth Social posts and Q & A with reporters. Love him or hate him (I’m neither) but going forward I hope future administrations are as transparent as he has been.

Bruce60657's avatar

You know, I did vote for him. Doesn't mean I have to approve of all his actions.

Alan Sewell's avatar

I was a reluctant Trump voter in 2016 and 2024 (not reluctant in 2020), and wrote in 2023 that the Republican Party should amend its bylaws to prohibit him from seeking the party's nomination. But, once in office, he's done what I, and the electoral and popular vote majority, knew needed to be done and that only he, among Republican candidates, was resolved to do.

With that backstory of my views, I told my wife: yesterday "Trump's self-dealing is so blatant, it would have been the scandal of the century in any previous administration. But since Trump is out in the open, doing it unashamedly, like he's done everything else his whole life, most people shrug and say, 'That's Trump being Trump.' At least he didn't launder money on the sly from the governments of China, Russia, Kazakhstan, and Ukraine, the way Biden did."

His most outrageous self-dealing was merging his social media company into a nuclear power startup that receives federal government contracts, in order to boost the stock of his sagging Truth Social:

===

In late 2025, Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG), the parent company of Truth Social, announced an agreement to merge with TAE Technologies, a California-based nuclear fusion developer. The all-stock transaction was valued at more than $6 billion.

===

Would that bother me if it was any other president? Of course, especially if it were done on the sly. But with Trump, it's just another yawner, because he does it all the time, is proud of it, and wants to do more.

234's avatar

He is a New Yorker, through and through. Brash. Loud. Proud. But most of all, he believes that America is the greatest country, and isn't ashamed to tout it as such.

Is he making money 'on the side'? Yep. Is there *anything* wrong about that?? Because hands down, I am sure that every other president has, too, and no one said a thing.

KARYN TRUITT's avatar

Oh??? are you *sure* about that???

Because Obama and Biden *both* were making money on side hustles whilst in office.

SBT's avatar

Well said. He is an open book, and it would be refreshing if his actions were less controversial.

They are also watching the Democrat Party crumble due to the antisemitism, child abuse, and communist and Islamist tendencies that are becoming more and more obvious. They are lashing out with the same old Trump is a grifter routine out of desperation, whether they realize it or not.

The Weiner case in California is a good example. A Democrat running for Pelosi’s seat, chased down and harassed in the streets for being Jewish by some Democrats, while other democrats support him because he defends the rights of criminal pedophiles to run for school board positions. What a mess!

Meme coins and the airplane are rehashed charges that never took hold before, but it is all they have right now.

Nobodyknowsnothing's avatar

the maga idiots who made absurd claims about Joe Biden "Biden crime family" corruption stand silent. Being innumerate and illiterate perhaps is why they stand by Trump the biggest grifter, bamboozler, and ballickerin US history. It is shameful that no republican is willing to call out this 6x bankrupt real estate charlatan because they are frightened of the man, and his supporters close their eyes to his vanadalism of the Kennedy center and reflecting pool. was it really idiotic to point out the factual reality of the Bidens selling access to Joey "what storm?" Biden? or the fact that coked up Hunter was 'earning' $500K a year sitting on the board of a Ukrainian power company? or that Hunter was coordinating communication between Daddy and Chinese leadership, for $50K a pop?

You wanna talk idiotic? How about signing pardons for family members who haven't even been charged with anything, going back TEN YEARS? and then finding out that we don't *actually* know who signed those... or who was *actually* running the government whilst Joe was in the basement.... and all the democrats doing a little golf clap. THAT is idiotic.

At least Trump is out front and open about making money. And guess what? Every other President has done it too. Including your demo-gods Obama and Biden.

Daniel's avatar

To be fair, voters were mad about the Biden administration’s use of third party financial hubs that took American tax payer money and paid their CEOs. And we won’t know what else they did with that money because there are no records.

While Trump is making weird “crypto coins” as a private venture that people are buying, who knows why. What Biden did was determined to be illegal, what Trump did was within the parameters of law.

Evans W's avatar

First let me say this. I voted for Trump 3 times. I love the street fighter in him more than anything, but what I reading last night & this morning had me ready to hurl my computer through the window. As we probably all know by now, Trumps financial disclosure was released yesterday. It was a mere 927 pages. Because I don't have all day to lay out everything, lets just look at his Crypto disclosures as it was his biggest source of income. More than every hotel, commercial building, golf course and REIT holding combined. Yes.....combined.

Trump personally made a whopping $1.4 billion from his crypto transactions.

His $TRUMP meme coin went from $75 to $1.68. In the first couple months about 813,000 wallets lost roughly $2 billion.

His World Liberty token fell 80%+, and almost every small buyer was locked down and couldn't sell while apparently insiders were free to trade.

For every $1 the insiders made in just fees, small traders lost roughly $20.

Trump and his partners control @ 80% of the meme coin supply. To put that into casino terms, that's like playing blackjack where the chances of you winning are < 20%.

Trump and his team pocketed ~$320M in trading fees alone off the same people were taking it in the shorts.

Finally, one of the most alarming ones.....the foreign interests/investments. An Abu Dhabi state fund ran $2 billion through his stablecoin, and 3/4 of his top coin holders are foreign. So to those not really keen on understanding the significance of this, it means anyone, anywhere, can pay the president (or his holding vehicles/companies) anonymously using this structure.

I've been very open minded to the fact that the left tried to kill the man (3x's), bankrupt the man, imprison the man, drag the mans family name and businesses through the mud across the globe, but at the end of the day, you have to kinda take honest stock in what is going on here....or at least what seems to be going on.

I was also one of the biggest hell raisers during the Biden administration about Joe's crackhead son Hunter sitting on the board of an energy company in Ukraine for $50K a month, but that is mouse nuts compared to this IMHO. Can you even imagine the hell raising that would be taking place on the right if this shit was done by sleepy Joe and his family? I mean I've given up all hope that democrats will ever do anything good for the American people, but fuck me.....this looks like a full on bank heist.

I'm open to counter perspectives and hearing what I may be missing rom anyone that has insight but right now this looks like a turd in the punchbowl.

Lauren L's avatar

You aren’t missing anything. The corruption is blatantly obvious. The difference between Trump and any other corrupt politician is that he isn’t hiding anything. With Trump, what you see is what you get. Small traders buying his crypto are choosing to take the risk. If anyone loves Trump to the point of risking financial ruin, that’s their stupid decision to make.

This is vastly preferable to Congress getting rich off insider trading, and the entire Democrat/NGO grift of funding social causes with tax payer dollars while enriching themselves off perpetual human suffering they never actually fix.

The entire system is broken. Hopefully 2028 will be the reset that we desperately need, but I suspect it will get worse before it gets better.

234's avatar

The big difference with Trump and all of his business ventures are done in the private sector. No one is forced to buy crypto, meme coins, or watches. OTOH Biden used our tax dollars to enrich himself.....100%

The question is why does Trump do this and why now? What can he do with another $B he cannot already do? Could be revenge on the injustice of dozens of lawsuits against him, or to cover his staggering $400m in legal fees?

Chris Draughon's avatar

A fool and their money are soon departed. Anyone who bought into the meme coin deserves their fate. This applies to anyone who thinks meme coins are the path to prosperity, unless you are a celeb sponsoring this sort of scam.

Bruce60657's avatar

I felt this way about the Madoff "victims." While everyone in the world was loosing their shirts, Madoff's clients were enriching themselves. Didn't any of them wonder, "hmmm, something seems off here." Their chickens came home to roost and I say good. That's where greed gets you.

Peter R Kohli's avatar

I just have two questions and I’m really looking for an objective answer. Are all his assets, as he maintains, held in a blind trust, and does he have ANY CONTROL DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, over the allocation of the assets?

Until I have a truthful answer I shall hold my fire.

KARYN TRUITT's avatar

From what I understand, he is required to put everything into a blind trust before he can take the Oath. Now, does he make decisions over that? Like, yes, lets sell coins? I am guessing yes - over business that started AFTER he took office.

The man had 4 YEARS to look over all the Constitutionally allowed or not. To study, and pick it through. He has the money to pay the best attorneys and I bet he did.

Also the old adage 'it takes money to make money' comes into play. If you invest thousands, you make thousands, if you invest millions, you make millions.

Evans W's avatar
4hEdited

I’m not sure if you’ll ever get a true answer. I sort of look at the Trump blind trust money management in the same way I look at Paul Pelosi’s stock trades on public markets being generally considered as arm’s-length transactions, but what the hell do I know?

234's avatar

Paul Pelosi is no financial wizard. I read the financial pages daily and have never seen his name mentioned, good or bad. 100% of his money came from his crooked wife.....$400m net worth on a 50 year government salary.

Evans W's avatar

I don’t disagree with you on that. But certainly my point isn’t lost on you.

Disa sacks's avatar

The astounding amount of corruption, bribery ( whether technically legal or not whatever that means anymore) throughout our Governments at all levels is another sure sign that our Country is in decline.

This includes Both Biden Family and TrumpLutnick families on the Federal level as well as the Ro Khanna ,Nancy Pelosi insider stock trading

on the State levels we have California, Minnesota, NY Ohio Nj Maine governments and others that have been gorging themselves at the taxpayer troughs inservice of illegals they brought here to cheat our once fair elections

There can be no whitewashing it, or excusing it for Trump and Lutnick just because they flaunt it (now called transparency) That is simply an indication f how low we are falling that we tolerate and normalize this moral ethical Sin and destructive force known as Corruption.

It is inevitable that corrupt officials will put their own wallets before their oath and responsibility to their office.

Shame on all of us

There will be no coming back from this rot . It is too big, entrenched, and excused

Couple this with the Islamo communist takeover underway and I do not understand the optimism of others on the USA

234's avatar

You cannot overlook Trump & Lutnick made all their money before entering politics in the private sector. Pelosi, Biden, Clinton, Warren, Sanders, Omar , etc. never had jobs in the private sector outside of maybe guaranteed income union work.

Disa sacks's avatar

all true

i’ve made that point several times

however it doesn’t excuse The Trump Lunick corruption at all

Normalizing it because of their prior wealth

or because they flaunt it -is a sign of our decay as a citizenry

It’s all egregious

all destructive to the fabric of The Country

there should be zero tolerance for any of it

instead we simply move on

rarely are perpetrators punished and ostracized

it’s as though some admire their ability to get away with this perversion and rot

234's avatar

Please be careful of the words you use. It's not corrupt to legally sell meme coins or watches. People buy/invest in them of their own free will.

Disa sacks's avatar

A person must ask himself is it right or wrong before asking if it’s legal or illegal

if it’s wrong go no further -don’t do it

that’s called integrity

We have many corrupt schemes in this country that have been “ legalized”

it’s corruption “ under the color of law”

for examples

-the tax exempt status of “ not for profit “ Hospital Systems that are rolling in money paying multimillion dollar salaries and compensation pigs to “ administrators , but corporate jets and yachts etc while providing less than 1-2% in charity care

- The entire “ adult guardianship “industry that the elder estate planning lawyers etc cooked up that operates out of local private courts through our country

Just 2 ex of legal but wholly corrupt enterprises

I’m not talking legal

I’m talking corruption right vs wrong

it’s inevitable that elected officials who themselves are corrupt will eventually pass laws that enable more corruption

Disa sacks's avatar

probate courts not private courts

Evans W's avatar

A ton of people use their free will to invest their hard earned money with Bernie Madoff too.

234's avatar

oooh.....that one touched a nerve. I knew Madoff victims, and knew other financial advisors who were corrupt. I spent a lot of time analyzing their behavior, too much info to dig into here.

Madoff intentionally defrauded clients, and somehow fooled auditors who should have caught his illicit client statements and cooked books early on.

If that is Trump's objective, he won't go far being under the spotlight as he is. I don't think he's that stupid, but he's using very poor judgement not waiting till he's a private citizen again...time will tell.

Rufus T. Firefly's avatar

Well, for the last three election cycles our choice has been between getting shot in the foot repeatedly and being poisoned slowly. I went for Rubio in the '16 primary, but voted for the Orange One in all three generals because the Dem candidates were completely awful. The shitshow that was Obama's third term with Sloppy Joe sitting behind the Resolute Desk would have gone on for another four destructive years had Kacklin' Kamala been elected. I wish it was Ron Desantis in the White House right now. I believe we would have everything one likes about Trump, including action on the Iran threat, and none of the distractions, bluster and terrible, unseemly behavior that turns off those whose support he needs. None of this excuses the sheer insanity of the Dems. The DNC shanked Bernie the Bolshie in 2016 and 2020, the result of which seems to be a greatly energized Left that is rapidly swamping the rump Democrat Party as it eyes a takeover and makeover of the American republic. Heaven help us, if they get ahold of all the levers of power. Will ordinary Americans recoil at the idea of electing people who are Communists in all but name? That's the only hope the GOP has in November. And with Trump never failing to deliver when it comes to stirring the shit needlessly, I pray the normies turn out in droves and vote Republican, anyway -- despite the stupid shit the leader of the party does.
