Why are armed guards at USPS facilities?

pb's avatar

Doesn't WIC cover most of those items in Mamdani's Krogers? And food stamps cover the produce.

Trump is basically a delusional person who has bad advice or zero knowledge of what is going on.

Anyone who thinks otherwise is just a Trump puppets

Israel is right.

Ukraine i don’t know enough about .

This BS that talks are progressing well is BS

Trump is a total loser and has most all credibility with the world.

N will lose the election but Israel will protect its country regardless.

Eli Lake and Laura Loomer would make an interesting couple. Great dinner parties!

Bud's avatar

How in the world do you consider Ukraine an ally? They are more like an ex wife running up charges on your credit cards. Allies provide mutual support. What in the hell has Ukraine ever done for our country other that use up 198 billion dollars of our goodwill?

Terry's avatar

They're more like the enemy of our enemy.

They do produce a lot of wheat, nitrogen, and mail order brides.

Other than that... a corrupt, failed state. Before the 2022 invasion, they were considered the most corrupt country in all of Europe.

Biden bungled the situation (like every other situation). A weak U.S. leader gives tacit permission for the munchkins to fight amongst each other.

Larrd's avatar

Last I heard they were winning!

Hoghopper's avatar

They are fighting a true USA enemy and doing a pretty good job at it. Far better than the USA could, if the USA campaign against Iran is any measure. I'm fine calling Ukraine friend (and assisting its war effort) as long as it keeps doing that.

Larrd's avatar

If the US was doing as good with Iran as Ukraine is doing with Russia, we'd have ballistic missiles hitting Washington D.C. and New York City.

Merrie Melodies and Looney Tunes on tap today when da fauch takes the oath to tell THE truth. Has Vegas set odds on how many times Americas Doctor takes the fifth? Will Babs or Tapps be calling or texting tonight to offer their support ? Will CNN report on whose suit and tie he will be wearing like its the Met gala.

Most importantly when will Netflix be releasing a ten part series on Wuhan Tony and who will play the lead role

After years of Larry Loomer stating the entire county of Ukraine is full of Nazi's and we shouldn't send them a dime, she shows up in the same drone factory that Lindsey 'I've never seen a nation I didn't want to carpet bomb' Graham visited 48 hours before he kicked the bucket. She straps on her knee pads and bows down to Zelenskyy in one of the most pathetic interviews every conducted. Why the about face all of a sudden? Could it be that Zelenskyy is now offering to take additional military action against Iran after Ukraine forces hit an Iranian ship in the Caspian Sea? This is the most laughable op ever conducted on the American and the world. Only a f*cking retard wouldn't 110% believe that Loomer is a plant for the Netanyahu government and Zelenskyy is trying to favor more US aid by offering widen the escalation against Iran by using his military and Loomer is trying to assist in this. BTW.....both Zelenskyy & Netanyahu were in D.C. yesterday. Probably just a coincidence......right? I'll say it again.....this incursion could be the costliest bear trap the US has ever stepped into and Trump needs to get out however he can. https://x.com/thevivafrei/status/2081171826449789010?s=20

234's avatar

Good point but it's still too early to claim it could be the costliest trap. VietNam lasted an entire generation. Iraq & Afghanistan went on for years...much too long.

In my soul I believe Trump learned those lessons of long, costly engagements. Wait & see.

Evans W's avatar

Well, Pete Hegseth just asked for additional 70 billion to go along with a 90 billion that Congress has ear marked. We’re over 40 billion in cost so far. This isn’t a fraction of the time that was spent in Afghanistan & Iraq. Iran is four times the size of Iraq and some of the most inhospitable mountainous terrain in the world. The situation is so bad that not a single ally has stepped into assist in any measurable way, and now Trump and Netanyahu apparently have recruited the likes of Zelenskyy. The chances that this thing can spiral into something much larger and costlier beyond belief is very real IMHO. The larger point is that this administration ran on not getting us involved in conflicts like this. It was one of the key tenants that pulled in independence, unaffiliated, and centrist Democrats. Sorry but I’m not very optimistic on the wait and see position. Just my 2 cents that is wildly overpriced.

Is Donald Trump THE most consequential individual? Perhaps not anymore.

Who would you say is most consequential? Seriously.

Interesting item about Mr. Mandami's new career in the grocery business.

But here's a thought. The typical cost of goods sold -- "COGS," which is what the store pays its wholesale suppliers -- is typically 70 to 80 cents for every dollar that the store collects at the checkout stations. So a 30% discount means that Mamdani plans to sell basic items at about wholesale price.

But each dollar paid at checkout also includes at least 17 cents, and often as much as 27 or 28 cents, to keep the store running. How is Mr. Mamdani planning to cover this operational cost?

Bleonard3's avatar

Did not find on Polymarket odds whether said stores will carry pork products…

Also, I may have missed it, but what stops folks from New Jersey and Long Island from taking a road trip and stocking up?

Business Bob's avatar

New York State bridge and highway tolls. You need EZ Pass for a long walk.

Tim's avatar

My understanding is you must apply and be approved to shop there. Sort of like USSR’s shops for party members only (and, no, not every citizen was a Part member.)

Nel's avatar

Photo I’d 😂😂😂

only for groceries, though. Not for voting.

Larrd's avatar

Just raise traffic taxes! Set 80 dollar bridge and tunnel tolls!

There's always an answer when you're helping the underprivileged.

Tom Servo's avatar

I think they call that a sunk cost - lol

Not quite as it recurs every year with an inflation adjustment to help the bureaucrats w their NYC affordability issues

Laura Loomer has been correct on many things.

questions about this turn around on Ukraine must be raised. why now/ who arranged and paid for this jaunt? and how much was paid ? coordination with POTUS etc?

always follow the money

Clarity Seeker's avatar

I am not a fan of Loomer. Is there anything in her background that suggests i should be.

Remember, remember...'s avatar

Excellent question. Not that her looks should matter, but I think she looks like a tacky, run down version of Melisandre from Game of Thrones that projects a certain je ne sais quoi that doesn't inspire confidence.

Clarity Seeker's avatar

I like to think of her as MTGs jewish cousin. And both are as looney as many as their sisters on the left like the AWFL podcaster Welch and the members of the SQUADron

Larrd's avatar

She's aptly named. A looming presence. Just seems to appear now and then.

the official photo with the Qatari plane positioned smack between Trump and Netanyahu is a deliberate message and cause for concern

how ppl have little to nothing to sat about the dirty Qatari money flowing into this Administration , yet endlessly criticize Israe , the staunchest ally is a worth noting

NARCISSISTIC MEGALOMANIACS

President Trump is a narcissistic megalomaniac.

And yet, I believe he is the best President in my lifetime.

Dr. Fauci is a narcissistic megalomaniac.

And yes, I believe he should be in jail.

I don’t judge leaders by their personality.

I judge leaders by what they do or fail to do.

Clarity Seeker's avatar

Judging by actions and inactions. And then holding the person accountable.

Who could object to that? Other than the mainstream press of course ( 1A doesn't require honesty, objectivity or consistency)

Lanny's avatar
2hEdited

Exactly!

From what I know of Jimmy Carter he was a good man.

He was an absolute failure as a President.

Kennedy was an immoral ass but a good President.

Same with Bill Clinton.

We are electing leaders not choir boys.

Of course Biden was both an immoral ass and a disaster as a President.

Remember, remember...'s avatar

Carter was indeed an utter failure as Commander-in-Chief, but he does deserve credit for signing deregulation of the trucking and airline industries into law that had a large hand in the economic expansion of the 1980's. Reagan is by far my favorite president, but he can't take all the credit for turning the economy around.

"Immoral ass" is being kind to Biden and an insult to immoral asses everywhere. He was petty, vindictive, dishonest and on the wrong side of every issue his entire life.

I truly think that if Sirhan Sirhan's bullet hadn't taken Bobby Kennedy down, the world would today be a better place.

Clarity Seeker's avatar

Just you wait Lanny. Before its over we will be electing influencers and podcasters.

As we boomers leave the scene who will be replacing us? What are their beliefs and values? The polling on socialism is a harbinger. Same for polling regarding patriotism. And it is only getting worse as each year more graduate from high schools or colleges who have been force fed on these and other topics their entire lives ( in schools, via entertainment sources ( they need such entertainment 24-7 ).

Tom Servo's avatar

Don't count out GenX - we are not 'tards like the millennials and after

Clarity Seeker's avatar

I hope I are right. Who do you see as your generations current or future leaders. Are they stepping up

Lanny's avatar

We won the Cold War and we are losing the peace.

The dramatic rise in socialism in this country speaks to a rot in the nation that is far more dangerous to the long term health of the country than anything I have seen before.

234's avatar

With the Cold War lasting 40+ years, I'll bet our country has been at one war or another for half of our 250 year life.....war happens to be part of life.
