[in Minneapolis] ... the crowd—many of whom wore keffiyehs and held signs with messages like “The time for complacency is over”

I am as horrified over Pretti being killed for exercising his civil rights as they are, but their protests would go much farther in the minds of Americans if they carried American flags and did not wear the garb of Hamas/PLO terrorists.

And I would argue they messed with the RIGHT city. America is finally seeing the reality of Minneapolis and their lunatic progressive ideology and anti-American culture.

Speaking of giving yesterday’s news away for free, Yale has announced it will no longer charge tuition ($74k per year) for NEW students whose mommies and daddies pull down an annual salary of $200k.

Hmmm, why do I get the feeling someone’s hand is in my back-pocket?

The article announcing this was very specific in reporting that it applied to students starting next fall. What about the poor schlub who forewent his European gap year last fall lest he/she/they lose an his/her/their coveted spot and is now paying full freight? Sounds like grounds for a royal Ivy meltdown.

Also Biff and Muffy, who couldn’t possibly live on campus or eat in the cafeteria, still have to foot the bill that exclusive New Haven lifestyle. Spot check: a loaded 12-inch pie at Zaneli’s (the new go-to pizzeria; forget Pepe’s or Modern) is going to cost $25. Same for a plate of pasta and gravy. Rent runs over 2 grand a month.

Perhaps, with a $44 billion endowment (equivalent to Vermont’s GDP), Yale’s just “giving back.” Then there’s the implicit message behind a giveaway: it isn’t the worth the paper it’s printed on.

"The depressing press," including "our" TFP, is partially responsible for this eternal gloom and doom imposed upon us daily. We should be blooming, on the top of the world, and yet we are being convinced daily that we are fascist murderers. ICE agents killed two people, partial "suicides by cop," with no other side in the interpretation to make us feel like the bad, bad, bad, evil people that we are.

Maybe Kennedy from Louisiana also

They would win a presidential election.

Kristi whatever is just a puppet of Trump and her words were his words jumbled up a bit if you can believe that

Throw her under the bus

There a plenty of there to take her place

Get rid of Stephen miller, a great friend of the white nationalists and is probably one also.

Trump needs an elocution record so he wouldn’t have to speak the same garbage endlessly.

What the people feel in the ground is what matters

Not the numbers trump throws out daily.

I don’t watch Hockey and I’m cool with my gay friends and others so respectfully I have to ask who is the audience for a gay hockey show? And congratulations to the 4 Neil Young fans in Greenland on getting the free streaming!

Are you sure there are only four? I heard that Neil Young is a cultural icon among the older Inuit.

“Neil Young is offering free streaming of his entire discography to residents of Greenland”

What has Canada done to Greenland?

Larry's avatar

How can this not violate Canadian export control laws?

Remember, remember...'s avatar

Well, I hope Neil Young will remember,

Greenland Man don't need him around anyhow...

The Free Press continues to push a one-sided emotion-driven narrative that is in direct conflict with the “journalism” they claim to provide.

Wirh reapect to the population topic - theres some discussion on that vis a vis AI. Would be keen to understand your reporting on that. Also, how talk about birthrate, and more specifically the immigration rate versus the US birthrate. TFP has done lots of articles on Gen Z and Millennials - would be good to tie it all together for us readers. Thanks.

Watching the resistance to immigration enforcement over the last year has made me really sad for our country... because it has displayed just how bad our education system has become, how easily manipulated/activated too many are, and how little history people remember.

- 83 percent of deportees never saw a judge

- Many detained migrants were never given a chance to call their families

- Two-thirds of deportees had no criminal record

- Citizens and Green Card holders improperly detained

- Targeting of Latinos

- Deportations of mothers and children in Family Raids

- Workers swept from jobs in "silent raids"

- At least 5,100 children in foster care due to immigration enforcement

All that describes immigration enforcement under OBAMA, who deported 3.1 million people and turned away another 2 million! Don't take my word for it, read the Obama era articles posted below.

ICE under Obama detained migrants ON Christmas Eve in 2015 and no one took to the streets. ICE last summer did an operation at a marijuana farm in Camarillo, CA, where they rescued unaccompanied minors working there, and there were "protests" at the scene with at least one shot fired at officers! Think about that... If many of these people weren't "activated" to mobilize against immigration enforcement that is largely similar to past enforcement, would those two individuals still be alive?

12/4/2014, ACLU: The Ones Obama Left Behind - And Deported Without a Chance to Be Heard

"Each year, over 363, 279 - 83 percent - of deportations from the United States are ordered by immigration officers, NOT judges. Those deported in 'summary removal' processes do NOT get a hearing or a chance to present evidence, or call a lawyer, or even say goodbye to their families before they are banished, sometimes for life."

4/7/2014, TIME: Most Immigrants Deported Under Obama Had Thin or NO Criminal Record

"Two-thirds of immigrants deported from the U.S. since 2008 committed minor traffic violations or had NO criminal record at all despite Obama's promise that his administration was targeting immigrants who were threats to the community."

3/21/2014 ACLU: Three Ways We Got to 2 Million (3.1 million total for 8 Obama years)

"At the same time, we have seen U.S. citizens and Green Card holders improperly detained, targeting of Latinos and immigrants by local police, and increased fear in communities, yet no indication that the Administration plans to curb Secure Communities." "In its first five years, the Obama Administration has deported about twice as many people as the Bush Administration did in the same period - all while the number of immigration judges has remained virtually stagnant and border apprehensions are at an all-time low." "The reality is that this Administration has increasingly relied on methods, such as expedited removal and reinstatements of old decisions."

1/4/2016, Politico: Obama Administration Kicks Off FAMILY Deportation Raids

“The Obama administration confirmed Monday that it began a new wave of arrests of Central American immigrant families over the weekend, moving forward with deportations of MOTHERS and CHILDREN despite an outcry from immigrant rights groups and potential political fallout for Democrats.”

7/10/2010: New York Times: Illegal Workers Swept From Jobs in 'Silent Raids'

11/8/2011, The Atlantic Philanthropies: Shattered Families: The Perilous Intersection of Immigration Enforcement and the Child Welfare System

“Deportations and detentions of undocumented immigrants are destroying families, according to a ground breaking report by the Applied Research Center (ARC). When parents are detained or deported, their children are placed in foster care. Parents face a difficult, if not impossible, battle to regain custody because of barriers by immigration enforcement and the child welfare system. ARC estimates that at least 5,100 CHILDREN live in foster care whose parents were deported or detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement.”

'the courts patience is at an end'

The *court* and the *judge* can kick rocks. They are releasing violent criminals into the general public. They are culpable for the violence. If they had done their jobs to BEGIN WITH.... nobody would be "HERE".

Then again Vikings did raid churches, kill priests and monks, plunder gold and raped and pillaged innocent villagers.

They didn’t blow whistles and throw frozen water bottles.

East Coast Guy's avatar

Do you support agitators interfering with lawful operations to remove illegal immigrants? Do you feel sorrow for the tens thousands (if not hundreds of thousands) of families that have been directly impacted by violence, fraud, and crime of illegal foreign nationals in the last few years alone?

This is what bothers me most. The left has no clue who these women/girls are because they follow media outlets where those names are hardly mentioned, if at all. Every reason for those two deaths in Minneapolis can be traced back to the Biden admin having an open door policy at the border. The ones crying about the two deaths that were caused by the victims’ own doing are more tragic to them because it was something that came down from Trump. Every. Single. Thing. for the left goes back to Trump. They cannot handle logic and facts. They fall into an emotional meltdown whenever tragedy strikes that they can tie to Trump. It’s really immature and it makes me sick watching people I know call the killings in Minneapolis demonic.

There is a psychiatrist somewhere ( I am at work and don't have time to Google and DuckDuck to find him) that has said his practice is 75%-ish of people who are truly TDS patients. They are SO fixated on *anything* Trump that they cannot function properly - mentally or emotionally, and it is affecting their physical state. He is asking for the AMA (I think it's that, maybe the APA?) to declare it an actual mental illness....

Linda in MI's avatar

It’s a massive number of people having the same mental illness. They literally do think he’s Hitler…thank you democrat media and politicians. While this is hard for me to understand, it’s very concerning because not only does it negatively affect our interactions with each other, it must have a negative effect on productivity in this country.

KARYN TRUITT's avatar

When you are defending yourself from stupidity, it does cut into your productivity!!

Linda in MI's avatar

While I laughed when I read this stat, I can’t help but wonder exactly what it was that brought them to this point. And for people like me, this reaction is so overboard and hard to understand. I’m much less tolerant now when it comes to their reaction. We all must have Rosie O’Donnell friends that either put on a good act in front of us (my friends) or they’ve made it blatantly obvious and have chosen not to be with people who don’t feel this same way. I also wonder how the psychiatrist feels toward Trump.🤨 Thanks for this stat.

KARYN TRUITT's avatar

Welp, when I look at some of the people having Trump meltdowns, I don't wonder too much. It is obvious that they have had little guidance in life for making (good, positive) choices, and suffering consequences when they make poor choices.
