My sister urged me to watch the Netflix show and I scoffed at the idea. In fact, it took several months before I finally caved, fully expecting it to be another ridiculous “reality type show”. I was wrong. Like you, Bari, I was fully engrossed by the end of episode one. The hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence were incredible and inspiring. Thank you for this interview with Kelli. My favorite part was when she talked about the importance of hand written thank you notes - a habit I’ve tried to instill in my (now grown) kids as well.

Nice interview, good questions, great guest. I was impressed how she didn’t take the bait and get sucked into the identity politics discussion.

Hello 1970s. I've missed you.

I don't think you even see cheerleaders televised any more, for fear that some prominent scold will erupt in twitchy glee over the opportunity to accuse the NFL of objectifying women.

Many NFL teams don't even have them, and the Dallas Cowboys' version was last relevant about the time Victoria's Secret wasn't whether there was an X or a Y under the garment.

There are three games to watch tomorrow. The best team to watch is Detroit this season, and you also get to watch Chicago's Caleb Williams, who I think is actually going to become very good once he adapts to NFL speed. He can flat-out throw the ball. But Chicago's defense is pretty bad.

The nightcap, with Miami and Green Bay, is a little meh, but better than the Cowboys/Giants snoozer in the middle. Especially since the Giants are in full-on tank mode for that number one pick next year.

Cowboys vs. Giants… two of the worst teams in the league.

Real football fans will be watching the Lions against, yes, another of the worst teams, the Bears (I’m a Bills fan, but the Lions are clearly the best team in the NFL this season).
