Looking back, I feel the war to rid Iraq of Sadam was a mistake. Afghanistan was a mistake. But taking out Iran’s regime is not a mistake, even considering the risk. All you’re saying about how Iran’s leaders think about things is true, but all of these things would be true to a much darker degree after Iran has nuclear weapons. THAT is the difference! Just feed the “what if” into your mind with a scenario of Iran with the bomb, theocratic world terrorists with the ultimate weapon, and who knows, maybe shortly after they’d achieve the H bomb. All the risk you speak about? Unsolvable, and Iran knows this… which is why they won’t give in on enrichment, or ballistic missiles. We like to live in a fairy tale world where choices are simple, one path is good, the other bad. But this isn’t how we find the world. What we find is one path is bad, but the other is worse. Sorry, this is how it is, and how it’s always been. So, would Iran achieve nuclear breakout? Look back at the Clinton period, and the deal we made with North Korea, you can find his speech on Utube, meant to relieve an anxious nation. And… now they have the H bomb. But Iran would be MUCH worse.

If the Ds are seriously looking to eliminate the impact of growth of their ever more radical groups, Hochul should ignore ZM’s request for special allowance of his millionaire income tax. Make him raise those property taxes or fail on his collectivist efforts.

WTF has been happening at TFP?

Calling balls and strikes just like they always have. And letting readers make up their own minds. Do you really come here expecting some different?

Mark's avatar

So many come here wanting anything Trump does affirmed by the TFP. TDS is a 2 way street.

350,000 people marched in support of the people of Iran in Toronto on Friday, 14th. https://www.pressenza.com/2026/02/350000-people-march-in-toronto-in-support-of-iran-protests/

It made the flock of masked, self-righteous pro-Palestine college kids look irrelevant.

Thanks for bringing this up!

If you Google “are boneless wings really wings” it will tell you that they aren’t.

But geez…. Who cares…. Try both and order what you like. It’s not like it’s tofu.

"The authors of a Federal Reserve report showing American businesses and consumers were bearing the bulk of the costs from President Trump’s tariffs should be 'disciplined,' said Kevin Hassett..."

The fact that the Administration is still trying to make people believe that someone else will pay the tariffs shows what they think of the average American's intelligence. We are nothing more than tax and tariff drones and they want to keep it that way.

If foreign exporters were "paying for" our tariffs, it would be in the form of reduced US demand for foreign products, not changes in foreign prices (which is all the fed report measured). It's like arguing a cigarette tax doesn't cost the tobacco industry anything because it's technically paid by the smokers.

Tariffs are genuinely bad, but this was a pretty weak piece of analysis from the NY Fed.

Larrd's avatar

Inflation is down. The tariff scare has been debunked. That's why the report is deemed bogus.

Hope that helps.

Remember, remember...'s avatar

Inflation is down from the Biden era, but are you trying to say that the American people are not paying the tariffs?

I wonder if TFP will cover the massive sewage spill in the Potomac River. MSM has completely ignored the story. Even more imperative is the fact that FEMA, which would be charged with handling cleanup of the river, is currently not being funded.

Anne Emerson Hall's avatar

If the governor of Maryland and the mayor of DC asked for FEMA help nicely, the President said they’d get it. But they haven’t.

True but it’s kinda funny to see shit flowing INTO Washington for once.

The are too busy discussing the repression of poor Stephen Colbert's free speech.

Just a general comment. The Free Press is somewhat provincial in its outlook and choice of writers. They often seem to be echoing the famous New Yorker cover of 1976. That being said, they do an excellent job job of even handed political content and an excellent job of reporting on countries outside the USA that traditional media ignore

Larrd's avatar

They also do a great job with obits. David Mamet's piece on Robert Duvall is excellent and Woody Allen's on Diane Keaton, too. There was one more recent one that was very good, as well, though I'm having trouble remembering who. All short, intimate, wonderful reflections of the deceased by talented friends and colleagues.

Did one, anonymous Iranian military commander, as Moran claims, really say that “Trump is afraid”? If the “commander” was so certain, why wouldn’t he attach his name to the claim and make himself a national military hero, like Soleimani? Hmm, could it be he doesn’t want his name placed on a Reaper missile? And if the author knew his name, why wouldn’t he publish it? Could it be the author is full of shit and just trying to goad Trump into a Bush disaster?

Despite Moran’s claim, time isn’t on Khamenei’s side. It’s on Trumps side. Every day the Khamenei regime gets weaker and the populace becomes more desperate. Every day the intelligence gathering and the surgical strikes Trump and Israel are undoubtably planning are becoming more precise. Khamenei knows that, and if in fact he does exist, so does the anonymous Iranian military commander.

Back in June, after the B-2 strikes on Iran’s nuclear enrichment facilities, I wish Trump had delivered a clear message along these lines:

“This was a warning shot. Here is what we expect: full access for inspectors, an end to ballistic-missile production, and a halt to arming regional proxies. If these conditions are not met within 10 days, a second round will follow targeting your military-industrial infrastructure.”

Hopefully this time the message is clear and unambiguous.

If the Mullahs didn't get the hint after the beepers and bombings I have to suspect they'll never learn.

KARYN TRUITT's avatar

Why haven't we learned that you cannot just play nice with these kinds of regimes?? A hard slap, 30 minutes in the time out chair, and a stiff and stern, "Do NOT do that again!" just doesn't work!!

I have no idea what trump will do vis a vis Iran. But the scenario does raise the question for Globalists what to do when evil shows its face and uses its power to kill thousands. Particularly where the evil country is aligned with other evil countries ( if a Globalist is concerned about real censorship why not more condemnation of Jimmy Lai's effective death sentence). The Iran China Russian connections are clear yet only one consistently gets the focus for its evil acts. John Lennons IMAGINARY world is nowhere close to happening anytime soon. Even a foreign policy luminary such as Tik Tok A Ock knows that. And so geopolitics marches on.

How come no coverage on RI mass shooting by trans man? Seems to be a pattern. I’m not anti-trans, but something is going on here and isn’t being covered. Follow the meds.

Steve's avatar

Did the shooting at Tumbler Ridge in Canada get media coverage in the US? 9 dead and 25 injured. Also by a trans. I agree, nothing against trans people, they have the right to live however they want, but I think the trans activists have screwed with their heads.

The Moderna story is that what they submitted to the government which would have passed muster in the past was rejected for shoddy science. They are being allowed to resubmit when they have improved the study so it is actually a relevant study. Your little paragraph isnquite misleading.

The Trump Vaccine is the best evidence yet that there is a dangerous political cult that has formed in our society.

Trump supporters, who are alleged to be in a cult, boo Donald Trump at rallies when he mentions the vaccine. This is the opposite of cult behavior. Trump supporters are in fact simply abuse victims of the actual cult members, and they support Trump only because he is the first person in a while who appears to support their interests. Their reaction to Trump’s handling of the Epstein Files is further conclusive proof that the claims that they are cult members are crackpot nonsense.

The actual cult members, obviously, are Democrats. We know this because they have been brainwashed into believing Trump is pure evil and yet they lined up like cattle to take a vaccine created by Trump and the veterinarian who runs Pfizer. That is to say they know that the vaccine has poison in it (Trump himself being the poison) and like the people of Jonestown drinking the Kool Aid that they knew had had cyanide in it, Democrats willingly took it anyway and forced their children to take it as well. This is *actual* cult behavior.

Agreed. I was a Kennedy supporter who ended up supporting Trump when they teamed up. I have learned a lot from Kennedy and generally quite pleased with the current administration.
