I lost all respect for GiveSendGo after they raised funds for the family of Karmelo Anthony, who stabbed white student Austin Metcalf in the heart and killed him, over a petty squabble.
I posted my outrage to the GiveSendGo X account, accusing them of supporting a cold blooded murderer, to which they responded, "no, we didn't" (words to that effect).
To the extent that this organization identifies as Christian, one could possibly accept the notion of forgiveness and the willingness of men to repent for their sins. But it was the victim's father who forgave the killer, publicly. The killer's family, however, did not appear to accept his forgiveness, dismissing him contemptuously.
Consequently, most people other than the usual race grifters would like to see the killer punished rather than treated as a celebrity, and his family impoverished rather than enriched with a fancy mansion and luxurious new car (and well paid legal team intent on getting the kid exonerated).
GiveSendGo really stepped in it. I would like to see them disappear.
Turns out I am science translates to I am a liar. We knew Fauci was lying and as it turns out, so did he. Smart ass facial smirks however, never lie and his is permanent. The only true thing he ever said is my words may incriminate me.
In the opener here you say: "But it has also become a place for the likes of Einhorn to raise money off of their offensive views." Don't you mean Franco? Please don't let your work slip into the NYT black hole of absent copy editors.
New Fed chair fights for main street NOT wall street.
Since Paul Volcker left the Fed in 1987, Fed chairs have been doing the bidding of wall street not main street. Keep stocks up at any cost. Since the GFC of 2008, the Fed has kept real rates below what is required (a lot of the time below zero). That has given free money to speculators, questionable business investments and raised asset prices way higher than any metric of fair valuation. The byproduct is millennials and gen Z being priced out of the housing market and in the last five years, crushing inflation that is enemy number one for all. Most will agree with this.
The market does not want any part of tighter policy for any amount of time. 9+% inflation in 2022 saw rate hikes briefly that were immediately reversed (too soon). Now the Fed has let inflation above its target and above interest rates for 5 years. But all wall street wants is lower rates. To keep the party going. New highs, new glitzy investments, data centers.
Enter Trump’s new Fed Chair Warsh. Day 1, he shifts the conversation back to inflation from academics (WHICH the Fed is full of) endlessly debating how many cuts are coming when. The inflation problem will need higher rates – short term, long term or shrink the balance sheet (higher long rates). The market has been throwing mini tantrums. Wall St talking heads question his credibility (just like they did Volcker’s).
His assertion that the AI investment is keeping the economy hot and is likely to raise inflation in the near term (12mo) and raise productivity in the long term rightly points out AI is an inflationary impulse that needs to be tempered. How do we do that? Raise short term rates (which hits everyone) or let the market tighten for him. He vocalized he is comfortable with the latter. It is a surgical tightening against AI excess. Borrowing at the 10-30 years is how AI firms are investing insane amounts of money. So he is letting the long term rates rise. It is not good for wall street but probably better than raising short term rates for main street rather than raise rates for everyone. The street hates it. Who cares? Long rates are way lower than the 90s and are just normalizing. As long as he tempers the red hot area of the economy, he is doing the right thing. Wall street has had it too good for too long and so have big tech firms. Warsh is right and Wallace (the academic who did not get the job) is wrong.
I wrote this up in part because Tyler Cowen will never criticize his academic colleagues at the Fed.
Big editing mistake in your opening about Give Send Go: "But it has also become a place for the likes of Einhorn to raise money off of their offensive views." It was not a fundraising campaign for Einhorn.
Josh Hawley is widely considered a swamp creature of the beltway, but you can't deny that his 9+ minute dressing down of Anthony Fauci was pure gold. It's a shame Fauci won't be held to account for the endless crimes against humanity that he so arrogantly has been the poster child of. May he and every person who propped him up and called him a hero rot in the bowels of hell for eternity.
Fully pardoned and yet Fauci won't give answers. So what if he thinks that the republicans are out to get him. They are, by the way. So what. You grow a spine and answer the questions posed. A man stands his ground. A man defends himself in the court of public opinion. All Fauci did was add fuel to the fire that he is a liar and that he caused undue harm to the country. And the democrats defending him are no better. They should be demanding he answer the questions posed. The American People have a right to these answers. All this shows is how the Democrats are no longer the party of the people but of the elites with their ideology, and they don't care about the average American.
Are some forms of hate better ( more acceptable) than others? Does it depend on the ethnicity or religion or race or politics of the hater or the target of her hatred? This is a serious question . Especially for those whose lawns are adorned with "hate has no place here" signs?

Not Einhorn. Franco.
Get on it, FP.
Likes of ...Franco you mean?
“But it has also become a place for the likes of Einhorn to raise money off of their offensive views.“
I think this is a misprint, Einhorn was the Jewish employer.

PS - Once I finish my 3rd cup of coffee, I'll tell ya how I really feel about him.
I’ve seen plenty of that too. It just solidifies ‘the science’ that there’s no cure for retardation.
Science means never being allowed to question what is proclaimed as SETTLED. How often have we been lectured that Settlers are OPPRESSIVE COLONIZERS.
Word
If you go to the Hill and other liberal sites, the commenters are defending Fauci
GGGRRRRRRRRR. Hoping there is a *special* place in hell for the likes of them.
No doubt all of the politicians who took his wish as their command are busy defending their own choices. This time, they’re masking their asses.

I really hate it when they post those signs... 😜
Is this a typo or am I confused?
But it has also become a place for the likes of Einhorn to raise money off of their offensive views.
Yes. It should read “Franco,” not Einhorn.
JOSH. HAWLEY. MAGNIFICENT
Don’t you mean a place for people like Franco with offensive views?
