Also, GREAT definition of forgiveness.

I am so glad I listened to this one. Lots to admire and take away here. I especially appreciated the discussion about how we treat the people right in front of us. People are so distracted and disconnected. We all have to constantly guard against being overtaken by utter nonsense.

Thank you, Nicole and Bari. ❤️

Bari, this interview was MARVELOUS! I didn’t want it to end and now adore Nicole as much as I adore you. The next time you chat with Nicole please ask her to write You’re Fucking Welcome 🙏

Loved!!! What a great episode, had me teary at times and then laughing out loud at times. I loved her frankness about her mother's death, the state of our country, racial (DEI) biases, etc etc. And yes, I loved her sense of hope even in the face of the tragedy she personally experienced.

Hearing her speak gives me hope that there are sane, rational people out there that will help drive our country to a better place.

Many thanks introducing us to this warm and inspiring and humorous woman. I have worked in the ent't industry and sometimes write about it, and I have often wondered if this terrible event affected her and her husband's politics, as they both later supported Caruso -- which, I'm sure you know, was a courageous act in L.A., lol. But I felt it was her story to tell, so I kept my thoughts to myself. I look forward now to reading her book.

So I thank you again for the great interview, and thank Nicole and her parents for inspiring me.

This was one of the best episodes I've heard (and I listen to nearly every one...). I was so taken by Ms. Avant's perspective, and I felt a kind of kinship with her perception, her take on the world.

What an amazing person ... someone from a family that actually experienced many of the horrors of racism, bigotry and hatred - and to have emerged from that and recognize the amazing world we do live in ...

I cannot imagine many people being able to forgive the murderer and yet I see the astonishing logic about doing what she does ... one cannot have life infected by evil acts and so must find ways to move forward ...

Thanks for "introducing" us to a wonderful human being that we can all learn from ... Be well, live long and prosper!

I look forward to listening to her. I'll offer this.

Years ago, I came across the book Forgive For Good by Fred Luskin. he helped re-define forgiveness for me, making it more tangible and enabled me to get past some really difficult things.

Obviously, Ms. Avant has had to deal with much (I believe her father passed last year) and however she's managed, it's probably helpful for a lot of us.
