Even Bill Maher seems to be finally wavering in his unholy devotion to the Democratic Party as they drift ever closer to the nadir of crazy.
Welcome to the Republican Party. Or maybe we need a new centrist one.
“I don’t even know what I am anymore.”
Welcome to a large and rapidly growing club, mugged liberals.
As the great philosopher, Samuel Shem, stated, "Trash your illusions and the world will beat a path to your door."
Pretty sure this woman donates a bunch of money to our Down syndrome club in LA every year. For that, i thank her!
So I'll assume when she was on TBBT for many years she advised her agent to insist on less money than was being offered?
I wondered about that too, since Suzy had mentioned Bialik had an "equal pay" problem.
I thought Mayim was a refreshing host on Jeopardy. I enjoyed her much more than Ken Jennings.
Enjoying the Shvesters
As politically homeless as Mayim Bialik claims to be, she's unmistakably arguing from the same progressive socialist/communist-adjacent suburbs in vogue at the moment. I am disappointed you didn't ask for her reaction to the Mamdami-like clones embarking on the Long March through American institutions, politics and culture. Karl Marx, ironically, was "born to Jewish parents of rabbinical descent" afterall.
I'd see comments that were barely disguised in their antisemitism about Bialik's hosting of Jeopardy. She had an easy and fun way of relating to the contestants but some viewers called her awful.....no it was white bread Ken Jennings they loved. And preferred so no surprise she was not invited back. I thought at least give her the celebrity shows......she was fun on BBT which I'd watch the syndicated reruns of....it was fun till the guys started marrying.....I thought it made no sense for Parson's characterization of Sheldon. Her advocacy for Israel really makes her outside of the orbit of celebrity world. She and Debra Messing. And sometimes Seinfeld
I liked Mayim Bialik on The Big Bang Theory and wanted to like her as a person. But I can't abide her idea that babies should not wear diapers or her statement: “I’m one of those people who believes there should be a cap on how much you can earn, and it should be a lot less than what it is." How does she or anyone else set such a cap? It sounds authoritarian or socialist to me, and I doubt I ever earned what she did on BBT. She got a raw deal from Jeopardy but I'm sure the producers thought it more fashionable these days to go with Ken Jennings exclusively rather than to have a Jewish woman host some of the shows.
I miss Mayim on Jeopardy! We no longer watch the show at my house because of the new host.
I listened to the podcast yesterday. The natural rapport was so engaging that I hope we get to enjoy more chats from Mayim and Suzy.
It us refreshing to listen to a thoughtful liberal who understands that others may have politics that differ from hers, and are not the enemy or idiots.
Mayim's convictions and courage are admirable, and rare.
Mayim Bialik and Suzy Weiss was my Shabbat Dvar for today. Wonderful and sane.
Ken Jennings is a travesty.
Hi, why not make TFP’s Looking for Love easy with a link from one of your subcategories. Thx
Mayim Bialik was also in the Movie Beaches. A great movie of childhood friendship lasting decades till sadly one passes due to sickness. Better Midler’s theme song “The Wind Beneath My Wings” is beautiful and touching.
I can't stand Bette Midler but also can't deny her talent as a singer and actress. I'd like it if she were Better rather than Bitter or Bette.
She's been silent as of late, maybe her age is catching up to her. I've always found it kind of sad and unfortunate that such a talented, funny, charming perfomer could show herself be so unhinged and hate-filled based on her social media activity from a few years ago.
that she is silent about Israel ....yet is beyond anything that anyone can do to her at her age and fame and standing in show biz ....well the only thing is she hasn't spoken about "Israeli genocide" to my knowledge..... Interesting that both she and Bialik are not exactly beauties by the standards of show biz.....same goes for Streisand......Jews like Judy Holiday and Lauren Bacall, are among those who were passed off as gentiles to the greater part of America.
