On the so-called COMMUNIST TURN OF THE DSA……….AN OXYMORON.. my second post….

One more thing. I posted a while ago on the DSA’s communist turn….here is a slice of what I see is at the heart of WHO adheres to socialism/communism (COLLECTIVISM) and WHO adheres to democracy, democratic tenets of INDIVIDUALISM. It will be brief.

Think in terms of the following: PATTERNS OF DEFERENCE.

Who do you defer to? Save, the legal system, I can answer “to no one.”

Who do democrats, socialists, communists, defer to? Answer: government and/or the collective. “WE” ALWAYS SUPERSEDES “I.”

In true a democratic society, “I” SUPERSEDES “WE.” The USA was built on “rugged individualism.”

NOTICE: leftdemmcomms always DEFER. They want and need and look to be “given” things.

REPUBLICANS, AND ESPECIALLY, INDEPENDENTS, DO NOT DEFER. They work for it.

BIG DIFFERENCE.

Communism is an end state.

No country ever has or ever will reach the communist utopia.

Capitalism is an end state.

No country ever has or ever will reach the capitalist utopia.

I travelled to the Union of Soviet SOCIALISTS Republics.

Even there, there were elements of capitalism.

Just as there are elements of socialism in America.

When we keep calling the DSA communists we play right into their hands.

They would much prefer for the boogey-man to be communism rather than socialism.

Nothing Progressives like better than to discuss definitions over issues.

Well, I’ve watched 2 soccer games in my life. Flopping and complaining ruined the NBA but good lord, these soccer players are on a whole different level. I’m not sure what the key to their miraculous recoveries is but medical science needs to take note. Where can we buy that magic spray? I did see one gruesome injury but alas he was jumping over a small barrier while celebrating after the match. Wake me up if the US gets to another round of 16.

Who needs socialized medicine if you have soccer.

Kudos to TFP for today’s essays on the rising tide of socialist victories and what the response should be 250 years 3 days into our republic should be.

As long as Iran never gets a nuclear weapon and the US gives Israel the military weapons Israel will take care of it.

Trump is running out of time and is delusional if he thinks you can discuss treaty with psychotic crazy people.

He will have to bomb their industrial sites and enforce blockade.

Otherwise he will go down as a loser.

Could not have said it better myself.

DSA did NOT MAKE A COMMUNIST TURN…..it was always headed and guided there TOWARD COMMUNISM.

First, the DEMOCRATIC HANDLE/PART OF THE NAME IS ANATHEMA TO THE CONCEPT OF DEMOCRACY. You cannot be a democrat and be a socialist at the same time. POWER OF THE FEW OVER THE MANY IS THEIR RAISON D’ETRE. THE POWERFUL PRETEND IT IS NOT SO to convert the masses, the collectives, who relinquished their critical faculties to FREE STUFF. THE DSA LEADERS ARE PRETENDERS.

REPRESENTATIVE DEMOCRACY FOCUSES ON THE INDIVIDUAL NOT THE COLLECTIVE. So does our CONSTITUTION. POWER SPRINGS FROM THE INDIVIDUAL.

Socialism is NOT DEMOCRATIC. It springs from the POWER OF THE FEW OVER THE POWER OF THE MANY. It pretends to be equality driven, but no work is required to HAVE ALL THAT YOU NEED.

Unfortunately, NEED is individual, not collective. And you soon find, that whether it is power or stuff, your neighbor NEEDS MORE THAN YOU DO. BUT HE OR SHE DOESN’T WANT TO WORK AS HARD OR AS LONG AS YOU DO TO MEET THOSE NEEDS. THEIR NEEDS, NOT YOURS.

YOU ARE A FOOL IF YOU THINK HUMAN NATURE DOESN’T KICK IN WHEN EVERYTHING IS FREE.

SAOIRSE MATES…..

Democratic Socialism is political theatre.

The “turn” comes when socialism morphs into communism.

It's so cute that The Free Press is pretending Netanyahu, Smotritch and Ben-Gvir won't be winning in a landslide.

I was curious if anyone knows whether the Bosnian player's ankle was broken or operated on. He was in such agony I was worried that he might never walk again. I have been praying for his full recovery.

If he is ok is he eligible for some kind of academia award next year. I don't know much about soccer so I must ask do the players practice high drama, sort of how certain NBA players work on how to best flop to draw a foul ( one fella in particular)?

"No way, says Evan Barker, a former Democratic Party fundraiser who spent years training the progressive activists now leading the DSA wave."

Is anyone surprised at this? THIS (the Progressive takeover of the Democratic Party started around 3 minutes After George McGovern lost.....Badly.

Steve's avatar

The Progressives split into 2 factions. One Started Robbing banks and blowing things up (including themselves) The other cleaned themselves up and 1. When back to College Schools Of Education, The Humanities and got Tenure, 2. Started working there way up through the Democratic Party.

Steve G's avatar

Now if we could just get them to blow themselves up…….

The Democrat machine was 1000% behind Platner until he started dropping in the polls. And, if you read that Politico article closely, it's unclear that his alleged victim still wouldn't vote for him:

"One of the reasons I didn't come forward sooner was, the huge moral conflict I had between supporting his policies, but not supporting him as a person."

Lanny's avatar

Dems will love you no matter what....until your poll numbers drop.

Steve G's avatar

They left Joe so fast you could hear the whooshing sound.

Maybe 10 years ago a watched film of Bernie addressing a crowd in probably downtown Chicago. He was giving them that old time socialist religion when a handful of people climbed onstage. They took the mic from Bernie and began a lecture about what I now recognize as identity politics. Bernie stood meekly at the back with a look that said “what the hell is happening.” And so it began.

Lanny's avatar

I remember that well.

Albert Bodamer's avatar

Remind me, what is the percentage of democrats who believe violence is the necessary elixir to effect change?

KARYN TRUITT's avatar

something like 68%

Scary

James Gregg's avatar

Socialism is a spectrum. Communism is 100% Socialism. Progressives Democrats are probably around 40% Socialist. Now as they pass the 50% mark, they become more Social Democrats. Once they hit 75% they are Democratic Socialists. Technically Republicans are socialist as well, but they are defined as Capitalist. But in reality, they may have 10-15% Socialist leanings. As they go further right, they become more Fascist.

Lanny's avatar

First comment I have read in days that correctly addresses the issue.

Thank you for making this comment.

I travelled to the USSR frequently.

They were not communists.

There were elements of capitalism even there.

Hence the name USSR not USCR.

James Gregg's avatar

I think that socialism and nationalism run concurrently in that as a position becomes more socialist, they become less nationalist. And vice versa. And the socialist/nationalist track runs from opposing sides. So while Russia may be more Socialist, they will still have Capitalist positions. Communists would be 100% Socialist and Fascists would be 100% Nationalist.

Lanny's avatar

From what I saw of the Soviets they were both the most socialist and the most nationalist country I had worked in.

James Gregg's avatar

Current day Russia is more nationalist than socialist. They still have their socialist positions that are left over from the USSR, but as Capitalism started coming in, they started to become more nationalist. Some view Putin as a fascist for this reason. Capitalism and socialism may also be linked. As a country becomes more capitalist, they become less socialist. The two poles so to speak are Communist (Far Left) and Fascism (Far Right). And countries are positioned along the track between as are political positions from far left to far right. Socialism/Nationalism runs along the track as does Socialism/Capitalism. One could even posit that as one becomes more Nationalist, they become more Capitalist.

I understand and appreciate your point.

When we are all over the map with socialism is communism and vice versa we open ourselves up to ridicule and get into never ending debates on definition that obscure the issue.

The Left always prefers to debate words rather than issues.

Steve G's avatar

Agree. I probably should have said….You say potato….I say enemy of freedom.

"The state-run Electric Union announced the blackout in a post on X, claiming investigators are working to determine its cause."

So, the entire island has no power, but they can still use X?

KARYN TRUITT's avatar

well obviously not the proletarians...

But I would bet big bucks the Castros and their friends all have power.

David Burse's avatar

OK, but they don't need the electric company to tell them that the power went out. They are the reason why the power went out. They know this. They do not care. Just blame US embargo. The embargo is their crutch. It was - and always has been IMO - a terrible policy. They have a terrible economic system imposed on people by ruthless tyrants. They have nothing to sell us except tourism with cheap whores. That's why Canadiens love the place ...

KARYN TRUITT's avatar

True. Closer and cheaper than Singapore.

I once had to explain to my (now ex) husband why his dad went to Singapore every 3-4 weeks, bought nothing, came home with nothing, took no pictures, and really had nothing to say about the 2-3 days he stayed there...

Interesting that the NYT mentioned Jodi Racicot in their June piece on Graham Platner’s dating habits, but chose, for some reason, not to include details of the incident. Could it be because Jodi, by her own admission, weighed revealing the details of the rape against taking out the candidate whose policies she viscerally endorsed and chose to stay mum? Gives a whole new meaning to taking one for the team.

To a man who habitually violates women, raping a nation built on the notion of inalienable rights is nothing. Women who keep silent will keep getting raped. So too the electorate that puts these goons in power.

Rocket J. Squirrel's avatar

The NYT didn't mention that Racicot event because they thought then that Platner would win and he still had support of the party. Once they realized he would lose, the Dems' long knives came out and the media publicized the Racicot event on command so that Platner will be gone by the July 13 deadline for the Dems to field a new candidate.

EKB ✡️ 🕎 🇺🇸's avatar

So the Nazi tattoo wasn't enough of a red flag for the democrat hypocrites like Ro Khanna they needed a rape allegation to finally denounce Platner. The simple "he abused woman, lied about his financial success, lied about his background, and of course loves Hamas," well those were just fine, especially the Jew hatred since we all know that Judenhass is now a feature of the democratic party and not a bug. They really couldn't figure out that Platner is a degenerate until now. Not very bright are they?

Guess the guys in the backrooms with the stogies are going to have to appoint someone to run against Susan Collins like they did when they cast Biden aside. There is a pattern here too: pushing unfit people for a position, trying to gaslight everyone that they are the problem not the candidate, pushing that candidate aside because he was too much of a stone around the party's neck, appointing someone who never won a primary to run instead of having the people decide who should be the party standard bearer. Time for the average democrat to do something about this authoritarian tendency in the democratic party.

And about Eisenkot- he lost a son and a nephew in the war in Gaza. He disagreed with how the war was waged but no one that he loved shirked their duty. (Meanwhile Bibi's son was ensconced in Miami) Remember that. You dont have to agree with his positions. But he and those he loved did their duty as did every Israeli since October 7 (well except the hasidim). They stood their ground and have a right to critique anyone and everything that the Israeli government did.

James Gregg's avatar

They just didn’t vet him enough. He looked like a good candidate at first. He said the right things. But Republicans had the same thing with that guy in NY who got elected to Congress and ended up a fraud and a cross dresser. Both parties see potential candidates but as they further examine their back stories, they see flaws that might disqualify a candidate. And sometimes they elect them before those disqualifiers come to light.

The problem is that they want candidates who are right on the line but not over the line. Because they want voters who are around that line. Being a die hard candidate is nice, but they only attract die hard voters. But those candidates who identify as party members but are close to the line can attract new voters who are also close to the line.

EKB ✡️ 🕎 🇺🇸's avatar

Actually the vetting was by some progressives not the party. And these children admitted they didnt vet him enough. Basically they didnt do their job because as you say he said the right things. The issue isnt that they found out some things about Platner after he was elected. It was that all of these things came out before the primary was even ran and still they supported him over Janet Mills. That is the problem in a nutshell.
