The comments for Michael Friedman’s article about losing his wife and the grief and anger he now feels have been turned off. However, reading the comment section has made me appreciate subscribers to the Free Press who had so many kind words, wisdom and reflections to share in the comment section. Their words could help Mr. Friedman, and others who are struggling with the loss of a loved one, come to terms with their loss. The Free Press is amazing but so are so many of the people that read it and who take the time to share their thoughts and experiences. Bravo.
"...President Trump won the White House in large part due to his promise to close the borders. Now, public opinion is swinging in the other direction on the issue..."
----‐----------------
I'd like to see media differentiate between closed borders (I think the vast majority are glad for that) and the methods and targets of illegal immigrantion law enforcement (I think most Trump voters were at least a bit surprised by the theatrical ferocity, and the spread of the drag net extending way beyond the worst of the worst).
It wasn’t only Republicans looking to hold Billary to task. That motion got voted out of Committee on a bipartisan basis. Doesn’t THAT say something in this day and age of hyper-partisanship?
“Punxsutawney Phil predicted six more weeks of winter on Monday morning. As freezing temperatures continue to sweep the country.” Guess those ICE OUT protests didn’t work?
“At least 12 people were killed after a Russian drone struck a bus in Ukraine on Sunday, authorities said.”
I can believe that 12 people DIED after the drone strike, but unless some unreported thing came along to kill them after the strike, they were killed BY the strike not AFTER it.
Years to release information from 3 different administrations. Then 60 days to release it all, and we expect 33 million documents to be properly redacted?
"... President Trump won the White House in large part due to his promise to close the borders. Now, public opinion is swinging in the other direction on the issue...."
So, public opinion has swung from closed the borders to open borders?!? Really. Sounds like a lie of the sort that USED to be the province of big media. Then again, TFP is now a division of Big Media.
Laura Delano was sent to therapy as a young teen and by her mid twenties, she dared to ask the question too many do not ask: are all these antidepressants and other psychiatric drugs making depression worse?
Unfortunately, the FP missed one of the biggest Epstein stories -- the Peter Mandelson allegedly leaking of sensitive British government info to Epstein when he was Business Sec. The info allegedly leaked including the timing of Brown's resignation was the sort of info to move markets. It raises questions about (if anything) Larry Summers leaked to Epstein when he was in charge of the US Treasury.
Mandelson may yet wind up in jail. It is out and out corruption if the allegations from the files are proved.
Starmer's government might fall. But, hey, we all concentrate on groundhop day and the fact the Clintons decided to testify.
There are serious questions for Starmer as many of his advisors are Mandelson proteges. And indeed why was Mandelson appointed US Ambassador when his ability to self destruct was well known?
It is a huge story and should be reported on.
Thank you for the Eli Lake piece on Pahlavi -- it is good that you are starting to highlight Iran and what is happening.
It would be helpful if the FP did a piece on the Chagos Islands and why that deal which Mandelson championed would be detrimental to US interests in the region.
The Free Press also missed another of the more interesting Epstein stories — Nellie Bowles enjoying her own little tête-à-tête with Jeffrey Epstein — in 2018.
Some meetings, it seems, are worth making time for.
Personally I think government corruption which enabled JP Morgan and others to benefit from advanced knowledge is a far bigger story. Equally why when Mandelson was so tainted re Epstein and other scandals, was he brought back into the fold and given the plumb position of British Ambassador to the US.
Nellie Bowles, for all her charms, did not have much raw power in 2018.
Why would she feel beholden? Epstein is disgraced and tainted. Any power he possessed is long gone. His web needs investigating. Personally I would think any relations with Larry Summers, Bill Gates etc (ie people who are alive and retain some sort of power) more interesting.
Gaza is not a country. Please continue to be one of the handful of news organizations that does not try to rewrite history or current events.

I looked into The Free Press report about the US pushing for a deal with the evil Mullah Regime in Iran
The link is to an A iOS article but Barak Ravid
Ravid was a media mouthpiece for the awful Biden 4 years and an Iranian propagandist acc to many accounts on X
Beware of anything he reports
The Free Press must do better in their news bullets every morning
Quoting mainstream leftist media is lazy sloppy and misleading

Yep. Of course I remember reading a few years ago that Phil's shadow prediction is accurate less than 30% of the time, so there's that.

I think they just polled a few people in NYC.
I just wrote a similar comment before seeing yours. Agreed!
And the Nocera piece has as many holes in it as the border used to have.

She realized that the focus was always on the self and after a decade, she knew it was enough: https://open.substack.com/pub/lizlasorte/p/unshrunk-a-story-of-psychiatric-treatment?r=76q58&utm_medium=ios&shareImageVariant=overlay
The government is partially shut down? I hadn’t noticed.
Its really dark out right now. you think The Shutdown might have something to do with it?
if you believe the Democrats in the Senate
Its Still Dark Out!!!
Thank Goodness Its Getting Light!

Brown’s resignation and bailout funds being injected. Insider trading? Nah. Just ask Pelosi.

Nellie Bowles needs to address this TODAY in her live stream.

Could it be that past behavior has a way of shaping today’s editorial judgments?

Follow up on Venezuela, their are reports of the oil industry opening up and prisons be opened .
