Think of it this way—this uprising is largely about the economy. No amount of repression is going to change that fact. The protests may end but the regime is still left with uncompromising reality that their economy is crumbling. And has no hope of recovery.
It’s such a tragedy & a bewilderment. Man has the wherewithal to be creative, innovative & dynamic. But in my lifetime I’ve seen evil in the form of Hitler & Stalin destroy the lives , the hopes, the futures of tens of millions of people. Humanity refuses to learn from history. Iran, Venezuela, Bondi Beach & Mandamni are contemporary examples.
We have the same paymaster here in Australia, both for the protestors, the terrorist attacks and firebombings of mosques and the indoctrination NGOs in our universities.
Tehran was once referred to as The Paris of The East. It was one of the most "western" cities in the region. Now it's but a shadow of its former self, thanks to the fanatical ideologues who have been in charge in what seems like forever. Will this time be different? The Iranian people deserve better.

A major benefit of having President Trump in office is that he encourages people in countries all over the world to fight for democracy. Can anyone believe that President Biden or President Harris would have stood behind the people of Iran in their efforts to get rid of the evil Iranian government? None of these presidents (or potential presidents) is all good or all bad, but at least the U.S. is fighting for positive change now in many parts of the world.
