But first: Trump’s tactical retreat.

ONCE AGAIN BULL!

Shall not be infringed...

This young man chose poorly to carry a gun to a protest, but did not threaten the officers. It doesn't matter that the officers were under a great deal of stress when they assaulted Pretti and killed him. What matters is that peacefully exercising your civil right to keep and bear arms in the presence of federal law enforcement can and will get you killed. To claim that Pretti deserved what he got and also claim to support the Second Amendment is pure hypocrisy. For those who actually support the Second Amendment, this will go down in history right next to Ruby Ridge and Waco.

Even Trump, who cares only about his legacy at this point in his political career, is acutely aware of the damage this has done. Kristi Noem, Stephen Miller, and Greg Bovino should all be fired.

234's avatar

Of course your source for Bovino's 'demotion' has to be the Atlantic!

Eisenhower was changing his commanders regularly....not everyone can be a General Patton.

Can your warped view of the Trump administration go any further left?

Sevenstars's avatar

Honestly I think it’s a good idea to give everyone who has been on the ground in Minneapolis a break. I can’t imagine the stress and trauma they’ve been put through.

Sevenstars's avatar

So just like in 2020 you are allowing a small group of paid domestic terrorists to convince you that 1) law enforcement is bad and always wrong and 2) protesters always good and right, even when they bite off fingers, even when they obstruct ICE, even when they make terrible decisions, even if they intentionally cause psychological and emotional trauma to officers, even when they blow whistles designed to inflict aural trauma, even when they destroy property.

No. Not falling for it. GROW A SPINE. ICE overwhelmingly serves a critically important function. Report on that. Report on the criminals being apprehended who have committed violent crime. Report on the actual number of deaths caused by ICE vs the deaths caused by illegals.

DO NOT support this color revolution!!!!

can’t wait for the TGIF review of the Melania documentary

Randy's avatar

Wouldn’t it be great if ICE and Border officers could make field decisions in slow motion and frame by frame?

Jeff Keener's avatar

If only we had slo-mo hindsight ahead of time, eh?

Not a Stephen Miller fan, but he’s correct that the Democrats side with domestic terrorists.

TRUMP BLEW IT!

For those who condemn MAGA supporters for not being more critical of our President, let me say….

The Trump Administration has badly mishandled events in Minnesota.

Progressives have followed Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals like…well like… a rule book and the Trump Administration has taken the bait.

1. The attention on the waste, fraud, and abuse in Minnesota has been relegated to the back page.

2. Tough talkers like Noem and Bovino have allowed their hummingbird asses to overload their 800 lbs. gorilla mouths.

3. Call it what you will but when the mob makes a demand and you meet them halfway it escalates, it doesn’t deescalate their demands. Appeasing mobs doesn’t work.

4. The National Guard can sometimes help but sometimes it is a disaster…i.e. Detroit 1967. If you truly believe this is a riot and the National guard can’t handle it you call in the 82nd and/or the 101st…i.e. Detroit 1967. BUT to do neither is insane.

I am a strong Trump/MAGA supporter but if we fail to criticize our side when we get it wrong then we are just as deranged as the TDS mental cases we so often read in the comments section of TFP.

Andras Boros-Kazai's avatar

"We" did not "get it wrong."

Two members of a hastily assembled force of thousands failed under pressure.

Shit happens.

ICE works OK in places where it is given even minimum cooperation. No headlines.

Alinsky's Handbook for Radicals calls for victims. Videos pay off handsomely.

Having been taken for suckers by "clever" Somalis, Minnesota honchoes, and many residents, are embarrassed. As they should be.

"Quick, change the topic! We must produce headlines!"

So, here we are.

Usually, the caravan proceeds even though dogs bark.

This time, barking carries the day. How long?

Lanny's avatar

"ICE works OK in places where it is given even minimum cooperation."

BUT I didn't criticize Trump or ICE in those locations.

234's avatar

What would your take be if the protesters were not tightly organized and allowed to roam freely to obstruct? Who can possibly do their job with car horns sounded, whistles blown in your face, spat upon, frozen bottles of urine hurled at you, megaphones in your ear, your family put in danger due to doxing, and your sleep disrupted every night?

All with zero help from local police.....and TRUMP is the bad guy?

You need a mulligan, my friend.

Rocket J. Squirrel's avatar

Haven’t seen many comments from you lately. Glad you’re back!

Lanny's avatar

Thanks!

Had to laugh yesterday when someone said that I lived on TFP and was pathetic for not having a life.

He said that he would "long (sp?) once a month" and see that I had commented.

He then blocked me.

I caught him in an out and out lie a while back which might have something to do with it.

Evidently insurrection is now acceptable when done by Blue states. It is like 1865 never happened. The lawless are willing to die to protect the unlawful, and all for the coming census in 2030.

Notice the Somali fraud story has disappeared?

When ICE went to deport those criminals, they were deemed racist.

MN still refuses to turn over the illegals they currently hold in jails. Are they not criminals?

Minneapolis still refuses to have local LEO enforce their own laws making ICE enforcement difficult and dangerous.

NOW Walz calls out the NG? Little late.

The Free Press gives the impression of carrying water for the leftist anarchists and CCP backed communists — some of which are elected Minnesota state officials—who have manufactured scenes of chaos, while flagrantly breaking the law. It is an abominable act of anti Americanism to be so unbalanced in coverage and grasp for the low-hanging fruit that Noem and Miller provided in moments where they chose imprecise language to describe the Pretti killing in the immediate aftermath.

What, among so many other things, remains missing is the backstory to the DHS operation: Pretti was part of a Signal chat that had orchestrated the interaction between agents that day, an operation designed to impede, stalk, harass and obstruct law enforcement who were in the midst of apprehending a wife-beating, low life convict. TFP continues to perpetuate the leftist concocted narrative that, a well-meaning, kind ICU nurse lost his life trying to defend an innocent woman being accosted by gestapo (An “innocent” woman who we see in videos had been stalking and impeding this Agent, walking behind him and getting into his face while blasting a deafening whistle). It is sick that TFP allows the leftist narrative to live on unchecked and imposes it on its readership. You would think that at least one of The Editors would pick-up on the glaring similarities of the indoctrination and use of Palestinians as weapons against Israel, and the radicalization of Americans like Goode and Pretti.

Pretti accosted an agent and resisted arrest, while armed. Those agents scrambled for dear life to disarm him, and Petti— REACHES WITH A BLACK OBJECT IN HIS RIGHT HAND seconds after “Guys got a gun! ” is announced and gun fire sounds from what many believe was an unintentional discharge.

Petti was not gunned down. Petti was not executed. Petti’s death was the tragic and preventable end to his life here on earth. The Red-Green Alliance is glad to have him for a martyr, while the rest of us mourn another preventable death.

Now that you’ve earned some street cred amongst the MSM and anarchist crowd, would you kindly do a piece on the insurrectionists running Minnesota’s government who are the actual cause of this manufacturedchaos we’re witnessing? TIA.

I'm Libertarian. I pay for the Free Press because it doesn't do the things you say. The right wing has abandoned it's 2nd Amendment Principles on this issue. You are seeing what you want to see just as the left is seeing what they want to see.

Linda in MI's avatar

If you’re going to a protest, the last thing you should be doing, if you have any common sense whatsoever, is carry a gun with you. Is it his right to…yes. But he had to have something in mind by taking it along. Yes, it’s sad he was killed the way he was, but I don’t believe for one bit that this is all there is to his story. I’ve read that same background that Elizabeth wrote above…just haven’t seen it verified yet. That always takes longer if it goes against the liberal narrative as we’ve seen over and over again.

234's avatar

A proper investigation will open his cell phone and trace his text msg. records...

THEN we'll have the entire story.

Elizabeth's avatar

Not once did I mention 2A. It’s a non-starter issue meant to muddy the waters.

Assaulting an officer while armed and proceeding to resist arrest is the action of a person with a death wish. Pretti was trained to feel invincible behind a smartphone. It failed him. Failure is the point.

Remember, remember...'s avatar

Apparently from your point of view, it makes no difference that he was killed simply for having a gun even though he never threatened law enforcement. Is that correct?

Jeff Keener's avatar

So, Pretti brought his combat-accessorized sidearm just for show?

Remember, remember...'s avatar

Or maybe, like everyone else who carries a firearm for protection, he carried it like any other day. Assuming that one carries a concealed firearm with the intent of starting a firefight is a poor assumption.

Jeff Keener's avatar

Do you think that notion held sway in the J6 investigation? Evidently, only one firearm (pistol) was found among the persons of the protesters and yet that was enough to indict the entire event as an armed insurrection.

234's avatar

He should not have been killed just for have a concealed weapon, but he used very poor judgement. Even if he's right, he's dead.
