Free Press fam — because I'm a nerd and love cross-tabs and opinion data, I built an interactive app to visualize how different communities stack up on a variety of hot takes across a bunch of dimensions to see the fault lines. Dedicated page for the TFP community: https://votto.app/freepress

Check it out if you like interesting cross-tabs and cool charts like I do. Meant to be more like a living vibe check than a traditional survey, so don’t expect question statements to read like typical, dry polling mush.

The SPLC is a tax exempt organization. Anyone object to that statement? Thus the federal govt essentially subsidies donations made by allowing donors to deduct their contributions ( contribute a million, get back 400k through reduced federal taxes). If SPLC wasn't exempt the donations would be taxable to splc as income ( no exemption) plus splc would pay tax on income earned on its hefty balance sheet

I am more interested in why this partisan political organization is exempt today ( or the past ten years for that matter). What specifically has it done the past decade

Channeling Howard Baker of Watergate fame, regarding Charlottesville what did they know, when did they know it and who did they share that knowledge with. And why didn't MSM dig into all this years ago ( last question is rhetorical)

SPLC sounds a lot like BLM 2.0 Or did BLM learn from SPLC?

RETROACTIVELY REVOKE EXEMPT STA TUS AND MAKE SPLC PAY ...ITS FAIR SHARE

I'd like to hear more on the Stanford University funding story.

In the introductory remarks here by TFP It says that the SPLC "raised millions on the promise to combat hate". This is laughable. There isn't enough money anywhere to effectively and realistically "combat hate". If the SPLC actually claimed that it needed millions of dollars to combat hate, then this in itself should have alerted rational and knowledgeable people this was a sham.

However, according to various Democrats what is needed even now, evidentially beyond the millions of dollars needed to combat hate, are reparations for American Blacks whose ancestors were slaves before the 14th Amendment. Evidentially the millions or billions of American government dollars spent through Affirmative Action and DEI for, by now, over the last fifty years, still have not sufficed to make amends for slavery and racial hate in general even after our Civil War during the 1860's.

Assuming the SPLC is what the Free Press deems a Liberal Nonprofit, why does it now possess an endowment of about evidentially 800 million dollars or so to supposedly combat hate and, of course, it's manifestation of racism, being especially and allegedly, all that current or residual white racism? But if only white racism is still the problem, just imagine how may more millions of dollars, liberal non- profits like the SPLC would need to combat hate if racism wasn't confined to only one dwindling collectivity of white people. So really, so what if the SPLC has broken the law. It's mission to combat hate, especially racist hate, is so virtuous that it should exempt it from ordinary legal liability. And I speculate that Rubenfeld, and many of his liberal Free Press journalist colleagues, would possibly be receptive to this outcome for the SPLC and other liberal organizational factions.

No, they do not. They point out what Todd Blanche, Trump attorney and Epstein cover-up guy, claims.

There is a reason an informant inside the Aryan Brotherhood may not want direct deposit to their bank account with "SPLC" in the memo line.

Stop giving tax money to 'private' universities.

This is what our elite cultural institutions now value and promote: Muslims over Christians, clownish (and, to me, female-insulting) drag queens over self-denying veterans. I remember when Stanford University was, or at least, appeared distinguished and excellent.

Well....I knew one the "Somali daycare" things happened, it was just a matter of time before they went after the American-born DEIs.

“True, this unprecedented frenzy of mid-decade redistricting began with Trump…” baloney. Absolute baloney. Redistricting is an old game. Started longer before the Donald came down the escalator.

On the Kalshi betting scandal

it’s not enough that politicians betting g in their own races are not allowed on The Kalshi platform

They should not be allowed to run for any public office

Any politician ( including already in office) found betting on their races should be ousted immediately

Same for insider trading

Hoghopper's avatar

Why? Candidates are betting on themselves every time they enter a race. Do you think a front-runner is going to tank a political race for a payout? Or a dark horse who wins shouldn't have had confidence to pick himself? Political betting may be the least harmful case of insider betting.

IRG "U Can't" C Me's avatar

Weird. The SPLC, throughout its existence, has worked jointly with the FBI to pass on information, material, etc. collected by paid informants inside groups. Kash Patel ended the partnership to focus on "anti-Christian bias."

So, Trump personal attorney and Epstein "cover-up" guy, Todd Blanche and the DOJ, having SPLC donors best interests at heart, have discovered that the SPLC was using donations to materially, logistically and financially support Neo-Nazis, the Aryan Brotherhood, etc.?

Right... ;)

Look forward to future indictments of the NAACP, UNCF, Alpha Phi Alpha, Alpha Kappa Alpha, the Essence Festival, the Williams sisters, Howard University, BET, the former cast of "Black-ish," and "Fade Kings" barbershop

There is no doubt that this is precisely what they did. Let's wait for the evidence at the trial.

IRG "U Can't" C Me's avatar

No, there is. No logistics, material or organizational support.

Paid informants. Which they've done for years and discussed in their newsletters.

I'm sure this is a totally legit case with no ulterior motive at all. Trump DOJ has an excellent record so far on these things.

It is a sad state of affairs when drag queens are better taken of than U. S. veterans who served their country. Who is running the show at Stanford?

no more bailouts

it’s not even too big to fail

who wants the Federal government owning any commercial airline?

If you go to You Tube and search Spirit Airlines it won’t be hard to figure out why they’re in financial trouble.

The Mandelson scandal hearings continue. Today is Cat Little's turn and she has demonstrated complete understanding of London Rules (arse covering). Next week should be a bit more interesting as other people speak. Starmer is most definitely not out of danger. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/politics/2026/04/23/cat-little-foreign-affairs-committee-mandelson-scandal/

ANd if you want to know where Starmer has been getting his legal advice from (including re the Iran War) look no further than Richard Hermer whom Starmer elevated to a lord. Hermer was the sr barrister who was involved with the now imprisoned disgraced solicitor Phil Shiner. The Telegraph obtain copies of the emails. They are jaw dropping as this decorated war hero explained about how he was hounded in this real life witch hunt where terrorist posed as innocent civilians: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2026/04/22/brian-wood-queen-decorated-bravery-hermer/ or https://archive.ph/C01e3

There needs to be term limits

there needs to attendance mandates

the ossified gerontocracy in Congress must be stopped

Since you seem to know so much about him one would think you know his name.

His name is Byron Donalds. My Congressman and the next governor of Florida. He is not perfect (who is?) but far far better than any Democrat.

You’re correct. I still think he’s an unserious light-weight particularly in comparison to DeSantis.

The author Prof Jed Rubenfeld , is disingenuous right from the first paragraph f the Southern Poverty Law Center Case

It’s not a “ public interest law firm- it’s a not for profit tax exempt entity ( scam)

Why minimize their crimes ?

Why not help get them disbanded and punished for deliberately supporting the very groups they designate as hate groups - in order to scam for money - lots of it and to advance an anti American anti Jew anti white agenda

They were not running secret informant operations “ informants” They were funding the leaders of the very hate groups they designated as such and claimed to be fighting -why? to scam ppl for money .

Reality matters not bastardizing known definitions of words like “ informants”

The big picture is not in doubt and the country sees it and has he a long time

This isnt a case about free speech at all

It’s about a huge money scam - fraud that got innocent ppl killed

It’s responsible for funding and supporting the islamo communist alliance that is tearing down our country and targeting Jewish Americans everywhere

They defend Mahmoud Khalil and many other terrorists here illegally and with “ papers “ they lied to get .

Its a shame that Prof Jed Rubenfeld is not at the forefront of combatting the dangers confronting us from the red green alliance instead of his glaring bias towards defending its “ right “ to destroy America

Why not make the case to SCOTUS that Sharia law and Islam is really a political system veiled in a thin veneeer of “ religion”;that is simply incompatible with America and therefore not entitled to constitutional protections? Tulsi Gabbard laid out the case in Dec 2025 at her speech at a TPUSA event .

https://youtu.be/tgXzB-qrrzg?si=x-JImLSTapMvllWk

It garnered no attention . Why is that ?

This was a very disappointing article
