I suppose the "it takes a village" or "we are in this together" nonsense has taken over. We are not and it takes families, not villages to provide values and the tenacity to survive. Just look around at the hell holes most large cities have become and chased out those wiith values as to those opposed who choose to leach and be dependent. And please none of the racism, white supremacy bullshit.
I have never commented after being a long time subscriber but I'm commenting to tell you I loath the new format for your newsletter with links to articles it's awful go back to the way it was
The FP has seriously slipped as you noted.. Writing interesting pieces and managing a business are two different skills. And what is with this shutting down comments, is this Fox or MSNBC??
I fully agree. I've commented on this a couple times and sent an email about it. All other substacks have a useful button up top on the email to click into the app. With the new format this went away, among other problems the new formatting created. Now when I think about reading an article I say to myself is it really worth the pain and more often than not I say no.
This is actually a personal fight between Pelley and Trump. I remember Pelley’s sarcasm when Trump was president before. To think that one man’s ego and I refer to Pelley could destroy the lives of thousands who are part of Paramount Global is disgusting. Pelley should resign for the good of 60 minutes. As for Bernie Sanders ……he is as they say in Yiddish, an Alta cocker ( old man) ( I refer you to The Joys of Yiddish).
Lawyers speaking. And that is what amazed me here as lawyers define everything that goes on the air and that tells this edit was deliberate and meant to create chaos in order to provoke. Why CBS legal dept. would allow this is beyond belief as they surely knew that if Trump prevailed they were “ chopped liver”. They took a risk….possibly on orders from executives……and lost.
The left hates the police. Of course we've never heard about the suicides of police officers in Chicago. Thank you, TFP, for bringing this issue to light.
Surprised Biden came out of his basement. Why isn't he getting in-home care? How could anyone pay to hear him stumble over sentences? Sad.
I live just outside Omaha NE, Bacon’s district. Neither Don nor any other critic of Trump has said what the cuts to Medicaid are and why they are bad.
Don comes from one of two states that split their electoral votes. He is not a shoo in and needs to appeal to the liberals, moderate, is there such a thing, to keep his elected post. The only reason he is still the elected, is because the Dems in NE keep running well left candidates. There is not one program in our government that can’t be cut without hurting citizens unnecessarily. Instead of his generic we can’t cut Medicaid rhetoric, suggest some places where we can. Standing up to Trump is so much easier than standing up to your constituents.
It's even easier, Dan, to conflate "cuts to Medicaid" with cuts to Medicaid's well-documented overpayments, embezzled funds, and fraudulent transfers by "public servants" -- who until now were protected by a bureaucracy that remained untouchable.
Not so fast re Casey Means. Dr Andrea Love, of "Immunologic" on Substack, had this to say about her:
"Casey Means: a woman who got her MD at Stanford, started a fellowship in head and neck surgery, then left before she completed residency. She started Levels, a wellness company that sells continuous glucose monitors and pseudoscience about blood sugar. Levels is endorsed by all of the pseudoscience MDs from the fraudulent individuals touting the autoimmune diet, to those waging a war on sugar like Mark Hyman and Robert Lustig, to anti-vaxxer protege and “hack your hormones with supplements” peddlers Sara Gottfried. Casey is not a board-certified medical provider, she is not a scientist, she does not have relevant training in metabolism and nutrition, yet wrote a book called “Good Energy” where she makes unfounded claims about hacking your metabolism."
I subscribed to TFP for the political coverage which I still enjoy. Their recent expansion into health has been a disaster. Shit guests and shit science worse than what Joe Rogan does because at least he occasionally has qualified doctors/scientists on.
Canada future pogroms, UK stops Jewish Embassy attacks by Iranians, Columbia 'protests, ... Is anyone connecting the dots? Islam's colonial spread equals WWIII: The West (mostly cowards) vs. Islam. Wonder what side lefty commies will be on?
It's a Trojan horse that I saw through 24 years ago after 9/11. The more violent they are, the more people appease them. With the exception of a few countries, the west is done culturally.
"For the second time in eight days, an F/A-18F Super Hornet fighter jet—worth more than $60 million—fell overboard the USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier, and is now lost in the Red Sea"
From the linked CNN article: "It is not entirely clear what happened yet, as the investigation is ongoing, but two of the people said there was some kind of arrestment (sic)failure as the jet was trying to land on the carrier ....The jet crashed into the sea and has not been recovered." Not to downplay the problems plaguing the USS Harry Truman, but the FP needs to be a little better at getting simple facts straight.
"Bernie Sanders and eight Senate Democrats are urging Paramount not to settle Trump’s lawsuit against CBS over a minor edit to a 60 Minutes interview with Kamala Harris."
Minor edit. THERE"s the editorial qualifier. Is that word "minor" in the lawsuit? Or is it a word from the defendant. And why is it written here as accepted fact? It actually seems like...an opinion?
Olivia Reingold's introduction to her article along with the article itself are the best I have seen in TFP. It always irritated me that introductions often just repeated the first few paragraphs of the article. I appreciated reading how she discovered the high number of suicides and went about her research. This approach should be adopted as the gold standard For TFP. More investigative journalism please.
"The Golden Globes are adding a Best Podcast category in 2026, a formal acknowledgment of the format’s cultural takeover and legitimacy as a creative medium."

A "minor edit"? Only the hopelessly biased could label it as such.
Lawyers speaking. And that is what amazed me here as lawyers define everything that goes on the air and that tells this edit was deliberate and meant to create chaos in order to provoke. Putz fits much better

Right. But she’s cute and has a compelling way of talking to the nutritionally naive and gullible.
Wow what a cornucopia of stories. Good newsletter.
RE: antisemitism in Canada. If only there was a country all the Jews could go to where they will be safe. Oh wait......

What a bummer
If only such a country wasn't surrounded by 1.5 billion heathen barbarians who want to kill all Jews...
they're barbarians everywhere they go.

I seem to remember this guy used to report for TFP:
https://www.racket.news/p/i-tried-to-cover-a-may-day-protest
No-talent hack who thinks his gayness is the most important part of any story. I can't believe Matt decided to give him money

Bari Weiss is a great interviewer and she should pivot her world to this as the rest of the free press news and op ed is heading downhill.

Shouldn't the Navy have some procedure to recover or salvage a $60-million aircraft that falls in the ocean?
"The Golden Globes are adding a Best Podcast category in 2026, a formal acknowledgment of the format’s cultural takeover and legitimacy as a creative medium."
Meghan Markle or Michelle Obama the winner?
This is all old news and the FP wants to raise the rates for subscribers.
Good luck.
I won’t be one at end of the year.
They will not get a 100% rate increase from me while they tell me how much they appreciate me
