I want to tell you about a members-only digital space where Free Press subscribers can connect, trade recommendations, debate the news, and occasionally become obsessed with the same podcast episode.

Actually most of us "are more interested in the comments section than the articles themselves," because that's where you are more likely to find truth and substance, This especially applies to the vacuous TGIF.
I’m a big fan of TGIF, but very disappointed with the FP amount of audio/video content w/o transcript. Lots of subscribers just want to be able to scan something in a few minutes without having to use up an hour. AI can generate transcripts easily, so what’s the hold-up?
I adore Nellie. We all have black sheep in our families. I’d like to hear Nellie riff on the person with whom she shares a common ancestor, the most awful Tucker Carlson.
I beg for David Mamet to participate. I think almost all his cartoons are funny, and I want to go over his agent’s head and ask him for permission for my theater group to perform Glengarry Glen Ross with women in two of the roles, which can be done without changing a word.
Did anyone ever tell you how pretty you are in this picture, Mrs. Bowles?
Thank you … looking forward to engaging here and hoping for the best. Maybe a nit but … saying “we’re trusting you people” seems a bit patronizing and doesn’t reflect that we are paying subscribers who ‘trust you people at TFP to give us the product and quality promised’. I am a satisfied customer who reads TFP everyday. That should be enough. If you need to ‘trust’ me as a subscriber, tell me your criteria and why. Thanks for listening.
Please reread. She is saying they trust the subscribers will keep their comments civil and kind, follow the guidelines and not devolve to the level of FB/instagram. I find nothing wrong with it.
Reena nailed it AND would "....not trusting you people" have been better?
🤣🤣🤣🤔
In the back of my brain, I hear Keith Jackson on Saturday afternoon yelling "woo Nellie". Maybe you are giving us too much power (shade glasses on). No, keep it kind is my mantra for the "intra-web". I truly would like a kinder and gentler world. A world of respect for one another and a curiosity for what makes us different. May peace be with you, Bari, your family and us all.
I find the Free Press exhilarating. It does not take a political spectrum side. And I love the Forum and exchange thoughts. I have learned quite a bit from fellow Free Pressers.

Brilliant!!!! Thank you for connecting all of us. It’s much needed and appreciated!!
This is fabulous , brilliant . Good luck
You and Ms. Weiss have redefined "lesbian power couple." I cannot say enough about how witty, serious and spot on you are, Ms. Bowles. Do we need a lesbian Bar and Nel fan club of some sort? We will have to call it Nel and Bar since "lesbian Bar" may confuse people. Seriously, you rule.
Nellie -- I read your book before I even knew about TFP and then I subscribed as paid
What book?
Morning After the Revolution: Dispatches from the Wrong Side of History
By Nellie Bowles
Whatever happened to "Green Shorts" ?
I’m a 3 year paid subscriber. Getting pay walled to forum. Or do we have to pay for that too ?
