DEI is is alive and well at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s College of Engineering
If this were 150 years ago, perhaps candidates would need to submit a statement of Christian faith. This whole thing feels like a cultish religion.
I majored in woke thermodynamics. I don't understand entropy, but I know it is a concept discovered by white men
Why hasn't the president of this university been fired?
Back in 2011, the University of Nebraska was the first institution thrown out of the AAU - the organization for the top research universities in the country.
It is currently trying to get back into the organization. Undoubtedly, this complete genuflection to the DEI concept is part of that effort.
I'm reminded of the famous Groucho Marx quote: "I don't want to belong to any club that would have me as a member."
A bill is in the legislature now to stop this wasteful spending. This is an affront to my Christianity. We are each children of God. We are called to love each other as we love ourselves. I don't need a vice chancellor and dozens of staff and meetings to push this stupid progressive agenda. I want to hire associates based on merit.
