I will vote and will watch the primaries as they will be very interesting but since they negative and only soundness don’t mean much.

I do not like Vance.

I like Rubio.

I think he is a clear headed person who has a good handle on geopolitical affairs.

But average Americans rightfully so vote for their family and pocketbooks not the worlds problems.

I would never vote for any of the progressive leftists as that is not what I want my children and grandchildren to be left with.

Could a Jewish candidate ever run for the office.

Never IMO.

Even thought there are a number that are quite sensible.

Would I consider John fetterman?

Yes but he will never be a candidate.

Harris and Newsom are no.

So who is left?

It doesn’t really matter as the country will hopefully survive as I said before and you vote for someone else in 4 years.

The country will still be here unless the Chinese steal all our secrets, invade Taiwan, and Iran gets a nuclear weapon.

Listen I am not a political voter much anymore as they all are corrupts, greedy, and all do the same thing.

The country will survive hopefully and 4 years later vote for someone else.

I think his Iran views are spot on.

And very courageous.

I think his deportations of convicted aliens is spot on.

I think his support of Israel is spot on.

I think his rhetoric is what he is an entertainer.

I think his NATO decision about contributions is spot on.

I think his take on the UN as a useless organization is correct.

I don’t like his pandering to Qatar and Turkey is appropriate.

I understand his reasoning behind it but they are sounders of terrorism.

I do not like Vance.

I like Rubio.

A clear thinker of geopolitical problems.

I think there may be a third party but it will not succeed.

What are your views?

Tim Sheehy.

Lets first the joke out of the way: does he not have the perfect last name for our times?

I only hope those making decisions or advising the president read and discuss this in depth

I again don't know if there is a true plan here w massive deception

It sure appears we are putting our trust in not just Iran but also Qatar turkey and Pakistan who know how to flatter he who loves to be flattered. Perhaps BEFORE we trust we VERIFY. And begin by asking what do these countries really want ( what are their goals, values and beliefs)? Or does none of that matter?

Excellent piece on Portnoy.

Interviews with interesting characters like Dave are just one of the reasons I subscribe.

Trump is a total fool and Iran holds the puppet strings.

When you start something that is moral and ethical finish it or get off the pot.

"When you start something that is moral and ethical finish it or get off the pot."

Agree completely.

BUT

Why can't a leader make a mistake without you calling him a 'total fool" and a "puppet."

Maybe turn down the rhetoric and try to discuss ideas without making hate filled attacks that don't further the conversation.

paul goldberg's avatar

I will try but he is a clown in a blue suit.

Just needs a red nose.

I’d he would shut his mouth he would be much better if.

I don’t like the guy.

I like what he has accomplished so far.

“I don’t like the guy.

I like what he has accomplished so far.”

Well, that goes for most of our elected officials except Congress and the whole getting things accomplished part.

paul goldberg's avatar

Don’t get your point.

You don’t have to like a personality.

Like listen to Elon musk and Steve Jobs’s biographies by Walter Issacson and you understand exactly what I mean.

Accomplishments are the only thing that matters.

Rhetoric is for the masses to be brainwashed.

Clarity Seeker's avatar

And that's maybe the only thing for which our schools can say

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED

Lanny's avatar

Well at least they accomplished something.

I agree that you don’t have to like someone but why feel the need to throw a low blow if they’re doing the job?

And this “clown in a blue suit” has done much more for this country than the last two buffoons that held the office.

Lanny's avatar

“….he is a clown in a blue suit.

Just needs a red nose.”

Yeah, that’s the way to turn down the rhetoric and further the conversation.

Sorry Lanny,

But I am not aMAGA lemmings and only voted for Trump because Biden has lost it already and if Kamala took over we were doomed.

So paul am I "aMAGA" lemming for wanting a discussion as opposed arguments that are nothing more than insults?

Clarity Seeker's avatar

Or, what is a woman while we are at it.

Clarity Seeker's avatar

What is a maga? Often used never defined

If I were to call someone a racist or an anti semite or a homophobe or a white supremacist, and say prove you're not, could they do so without first defining what a racist antisemite homohobe or white supremacist is

Clarity Seeker's avatar

OK, you hate him. So what would you like to see next policy wise. Come 28 would you vote khanna or aoc ( assume Rubio or Vance is opponent). What are your top 3-5 substantive issues? Easy to throw rocks ( especially at trump).

paul goldberg's avatar

I gave you all his accomplishments somewhere in this thread and there are many I am n not going to repeat as too much effort.

He has accomplished everything except doesn’t have self control with his rhetoric.

He would be better sitting up and acting very unpresidential and is basically a narcissist.

He can’t help himself.

paul goldberg's avatar

Oh

I would not vote for a glorified bartender and don’t know much about khans but I’d he supports the DSA he is immediately out.

I think it will be a very interesting election and will watch the primaries.

Lanny's avatar

Gotta always ask... Compared to what?

paul goldberg's avatar

And I am very disturbed about the DSA spreading across our country.

I don’t think it is an isolated event.

I think the brainless youth and paid activists want free stuff and never have to work.

Lanny's avatar

Paul that is an argument.

Somene can agree or disagree with it but it is a thoughtout opinion.

That encourages discussion.

Character assasination does not.

BTW I agree with you 100%.

The DSA is a growing threat because it is so very appealing to folks who love FREE STUFF.

That is hard to argue with because although it makes no sense it is so very appealing.

As a parent of two kids who grew up in and around Flemington, New Jersey, I am more than aware of the Lindberg kidnapping. My kids were taught about it in school. They visited the courthouse and they have stood in the cell where Bruno Hauptman was held. They each have their own opinions as to what happened that night as does everyone their classmates in their respective classes. I thoroughly enjoyed The Lindberg Kidnapping podcast. It is a great entertaining listen. Joe and his producer, Poppy, did a terrific job. Although I do have one complaint. Jim Davidson has been promising my wife to tell her who he thinks did it for decades and when pushed by Joe, well, you'll have to listen to find out what he thinks. Great summer vacation listen!

Lanny's avatar

Still fascinating all these years later.

I grew-up reading the story and debating the case in my family.
