In 2016, former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie was one of 17 Republicans in a crowded field trying to beat Donald Trump. We know how that movie ended. One of the hard won lessons of that primary, especially among Republicans, was that it was foolish not to unite right away behind the strongest candidate. If they had done that, perhaps Trump wouldn't have been the nominee and then the president.
I could give you a hug for this despite the fact that I consider Christie a weasel, sort of at the Biden level of weaseldom. But we'd have a fairly normal person in the White House, rather than a criminal megalomaniac. Look at the ZERO response to this interview: nobody cares for normal people. If you don't trade in crazy conspiracy theories, you're irrelevant to the cult your party has become. Folks like you need to take it back.

In 2021, when Christie was a consultant, I had the opportunity to work with him and although he did accomplish the goal that we asked of him, I found him to be typically self-involved and self-promoting. But then I say to myself, aren't all politicians?? So I put that aside and listened closely to his interview - not only do I agree with him on the vast majority of issues, he's also very very smart, both intellectually and politically. Unfortunately, I don't seem him getting very far but please oh please, let's see him pummel donald on stage!!
Christie is just a spoiler. He will try to damage Trump and probably try to hurt the other candidates with his nastiness, then he will bow out of the race.
