Just a word about Biden buying a copy of Rashid Khalidi's book, "The Hundred Years' War on Palestine". Well, about the book, not about Biden, because what difference does it make what he reads in his last days in office?
It's not a very good book, IMO, but I have recommended it in the past, along with Ari Shavit's "My Promised Land", as "bookends" to help understand the contrary points of view of the Israeli left and Palestinian activists. Both writers have histories that precede the founding of the State of Israel, and their grandfathers might have corresponded with one another, IIRC. Both books were published well before October 7.
Before the flame wars begin, let me note that Khalidi's book is full of whining complaints about the "settler colonialism" canard, but it also provides a bit of context on such things as why Arafat didn't listen to experts (perhaps including Professor Khalidi) and how his grandfather's generation, having perhaps attended medical school in Turkey, were outsmarted by "the Zionists", who [unfairly!] used their understanding the workings of western democracies to their own advantage. In any case, he admits, on the last few pages, that "settler colonialist" states such as Canada, Australia, and the U.S. (among others) are legitimate nations, and he concedes legitimacy for Israel.
So, at the risk of redundancy: I'm not advocating Khalidi's point of view -- far from it -- but it is interesting to read an inside account of events from the other side.
All these hand-wringers about Biden FINALLY saying F-you to the rest of the country by taking off the gloves in order to do something just for his own family: are you f-ing serious??? After 8 years of Trump playing hardball, the republicans double dealing (starting way back with postpoining the Garland nomination) and Lara Trump as RNC bagman, and after the DNC threw his REAL legacy (successful legislation, long term vision for rebuild of middle class, spreading the wealth in red an blue states etc...) under the bus, you hand wringers have the nerve to call HIM out??? Biden DID make one big mistake though: his first F-you. when he endorsed Harris on the spot, which led to the embarassment of the Dems at the polls. So with the whole Democratic plan blown up Nov 5th, he simply held up is middle finger to BOTH parties and said "I'm outta here and I'm taking Hunter with me".
"Belgian prostitutes will receive full employment rights, including maternity leave, social security, and pensions, under a new law that went into effect on December 1."
Followed by:
"Bible sales are up 22 percent through the end of October, compared to the same period last year."
You can't make this stuff up. I think the matrix is breaking down.
Good job, Oliver. I like Trump's threat to Hamas. It should have been leveled on Oct 8th, but Israel has been using great restraint in its war with Hamas (and Hezbollah and the Houthis and Iran, too). Biden is too busy with understanding where he is on any given day (like Africa) instead of focusing on things that matter (like the hurricane recovery effort in North Carolina or the border crisis or the crime-filled cities or the rampant fentanyl deaths or ...). You get the idea.
Biden is treading on thin water with is pardon of Hunter. We could throw the book (yeah, why not, the anti-semitic book he purchased) at him. He's really a puppet of Obama. Sad.
Yeah, it's always interesting how people with "lethal amounts fentanyl in their system" and "sickle cell anemia" are walking around, totally fine and non-dead. Then after 9 minutes of knee on the neck or a 6 minute chokehold. Boom! It kicks in!
Can't wait until diabetes gets a shot at the big time.
What Joe Biden’s pardon of Hunter exposes more than anything else is just how “high on their own supply” the left wing media and pundits actually are. It’s moments like this where I feel a bit of relief and loosen a few notches on my tinfoil hat. It turns out that what I attributed to malice from the MSM and pundits is actually, simply, stupidity.
To me, it was that the Democrats (the media and Biden and all of them) used a known willful lie of Biden not pardoning his son as a for of stolen virtue. EVERYONE with an IQ over 70 knew Hunter would get a pardon. EVERYONE.
But the radical and extremist media used Biden saying he wouldn't as false virtue to denigrate their political opponents.
Biden's Hunter pardon absolutely is hypocrisy and a mocking of the concept of principles, and the maxim "nobody in America is above the law". It's also I fear the final nail in the coffin of any pretense that certain people aren't above the law, and a license to ignore that principle on a wholesale basis in the future. I don't care if you're GOP or Democrat, this is a BAD thing. Whataboutism may be an effective tactic in political discourse, but it's a disastrous development for our country. When no one is left who can even pretend they are serious about this principle, Pandora's box has now burst wide open.

Biden has always been a crook and liar.

Trump needs to make good on his hostage pledge and remove all nuclear capabilities of Iran the main existential threat to the world
Do you remember this?

I am all for it as long as they chisel a $ on his forehead and the word "Liar" right below it.
If this doesn't prove that Nancy is nutz, I don't know what will. Good bless the voters in San Francisco. They are as nutz as Nancy.
Love love love this interview with Haviv Rettig Gur. Fearless. Bold. Clear. Absolute fire. Thanks for this.
Trudeau was a theater geek. That explains a lot
At the end of the day, what father would not try to get his kids' out of a jam if he has the power to?
Yes, but many fathers would allow them to spend a night or two in jail first.

Trump isn't going to do anything to Hamas. He's already demanding a ceasefire.
Yeah....considering Biden has done nothing to hamper/restrict Israel in any way, not sure a book purchase is that scandalous.

I like how Eli framed it as Trump would use Biden as justification for shady pardons IN THE FUTURE.
Very, very clever, Eli ;)

What makes you think Biden purchased the book?
What makes you think he can actually read it?
