He has them running in circles, constantly denying a deal has been reached, then suddenly he resumes devastating bombings, following which another word salad about "a deal is under discussion" which again the Iranians deny. They have to be totally bewildered by now.
What's happening under the radar is probably more important; by keeping the regime in constant chaos, he's giving the democracy activist/rebels, e.g. the Immortal Gods movement, an opportunity to acquire more arms and become a credible threat.

I only know of three moderate Democrats, all who happen to be public figures. Bill Maher, John Fetterman, and Matt Taibbi. These three consistently point out the absolute craziness of the Democrats. They want their party to succeed. But they know that some of the positions of the party may lead to their demise. But on a personal level, most of the Democrats I know are completely in denial. After last week’s demonstration by Fauci, Democrats put their hands over their ears and still insisted he was a hero. They will not look at any evidence that Fauci has been duplicitous and freakishly corrupt. But not just in regards to Covid, Fauci demonstrated his corruption in regards to AIDS as well. If you can’t objectively look at evidence and disregard the media’s narrative you will never admit the truth no matter what the evidence shows.
Is it conceivable to you that those of us who see Fauci as someone who (like everyone) made recommendations during a novel pandemic that he evolved from as time went on and knowledge increased and also would admit (under a fair process) that some things took too long like reopening schools. The vilifying of him and comparisons to him as among the worst war criminals in history are indefensible and reflect exactly the criticism you are making in your post. And I am interested to know what you mean by his corruption in regard to aids especially. It is possible to have a thoughtful analysis about what he did well and where even he would say he erred - that is the nature of science. The gotcha effort to get him to “Peter himself” at the committee gets us nowhere as a society.

Addictions were exacerbated. The list goes on. Why?? Because he knew that it was likely his department had contributed to the outbreak by indirectly funding gain of function at the Wuhan lab. He was desperate to cover that up and get as many people vaccinated as possible. In reality, he just should have gotten the elderly and immunocompromised people the shot. Fauci could not have the lab leak theory validated because it could lead to his involvement in creating the pandemic. As far as the AIDS crisis goes Fauci was responsible for misinformation about how to treat it as well. You can research yourself about Fauci and AIDS, and why the homosexual community was infuriated at Fauci for what he did.

But to suggest that a LITERATURE course should have a distinct bearing on one’s life and identity is REALLY STRETCHING YOUR CREDENTIALS IF YOU ARE A PROFESSOR, especially for undergrads. And this is the “tell” that made me curious about the ethos that brought this professor to be fired. I might also add, academia eats their own. Anyone who has taught for more than 10 years knows this to be true. Intrusions into the classroom are pro forma for all types of reasons. Academic politics plays a profound role. Power is wielded everywhere.
Why not academia?
Ethics, philosophy, economics, political science, math, THE SCIENTIFIC METHOD, HEGELIAN DIALECTIC, and a host of other courses will enlighten aspirations to KNOW THYSELF. After all, AN UNEXAMINED LIFE IS NOT WORTH LIVING. Yes? Sound familiar? Literature is not the instrument for the psychological complexities about IDENTITY of “who you are and who you don’t want to be.” Fiction is fiction based on reality, usually. That is the challenge for most professors who are really trying to empower them to BE empowered agent-driven individuals who will use their talents productively.
