To all the predictors on the war, how would any of them know? Have they seen or been party to any war that has actually been one? None from the USA. Even Israel has won many battles but not a war with unconditional surrender by the other side. So who has the knowledge of whether we are winning or not when their experience is how to not win a war.
Somehow alleged military geniuses did not consider all the production crises this idiotic war has created. Neocons NEVER think ahead. They think we are fighting WWII because neocons are either delusional or crooks, and many times BOTH!
We have heard from enough cowards who won't come out and claim they support a terrorists regime who throw gays off buildings, torture, rape, and murder any woman who as much as shows a lock of their hair, and wants every American dead.
Maybe you should apply for citizenship in Iran....leave your wife and daughters behind.
I wonder, with all those oil vessel's backed up in Hormuz, when they all finally pass, will gas be .50 a gallon? 🤔. And I still think it’s somewhat amusing to complain about the cost of a gallon of gas while drinking a $2 bottle of water. And if anyone has a little free time today please reach out to Gaven Newsome and whisper to him that CA regulations, taxes and policies actually do impact the prices of gas in CA. There IS a reason it’s $2 more.
These types of headlines grow tiresome. You must first define "winning".
The Israelis have a more nuanced view of the world. Unlike Americans, they do not believe in "go in big, get out quick, mission accomplished", other than as a tactic in a continuing war.
In fact, Israelis take the long view. Gazans lob a few thousand rockets into Israel, hurt a few people, maybe kill a few people. The Israeli defense force launches punitive strikes, kill dozens of Hamas and Islamic Jihad fighters, destroy rocket launchers, and then, for a while, there is quiet, while the Islamists lick their wounds and plan the next attack. This approach is known as "mowing the lawn".
Deceptions and distortions notwithstanding, it is not Israeli policy to genocide their neighbors, though of course that would actually end all of the wars immediately. Don't think it hasn't crossed some people's minds, especially after the heinous crimes of October 7 2023.
But laws and morality prevent the Roman approach to solving this problem (kill all the men, sell the women and children into slavery, raze the cities to the ground and salt the earth so that nothing will ever grow there again).
Iran is a completely different situation; the people chafe under a religious-military dictatorship that has imposed an extreme version of intolerant Shi'a Islam on a largely secular populace since 1980 (a result of Jimmy Carter's feckless belief in what he imagined was democracy).
The people are phoning in tips to the Israelis now, to guide assassination drones to their targets. The Iranian government and military have been decimated, and many of them have either fled the country or abandoned posts and joined the rebellion. A few more weeks of this and there will simply be no control structure left. And thus, there will be no need for silly headlines like "are we winning?"
The Iranian people are the ones who win or lose. Increasingly, it looks like they are winning.
True. But the big post-conflict question remains: How strong is Shi'a's hold on Persian (OK, Iranian to you) mentality?
The world can (reluctantly) tolerate an authoritarian oil-supplier, but not one that is planning to bring about an all-encompassing end-of-the-world war just to see the Mahdi return from occultation.
Note that Iran is the overall name of the country (the land of the Aryans); Persia refers to the ethnic majority (the people who speak Persian a.k.a. Farsi).
What? Seven presidents passed on how to reconfigure the Middle East. Muslims do not play well with others — even their own when you disagree: witness 32,000 protesters slaughtered in 1 day. As dangerous as the Regime is, we can’t trust them to play nice with nuclear weapons — or even a knife. This war is not about the price of oil, it’s about who survives in the 21st century.
Human rights in display today in TFP. Starting with the Canadian HR awards for denying dignity. Gotta love the lack of objectivity ( a requirement for any nation that purports to respect the rule of law). The rule of law also requires equal application and enforcement. any Canadian jews ( including Jewish college students) who have been treated as and called swine been remunerated ( in Canada jews increasingly are viewed by leaders and media as undeserving of dignity).
Sweden viewed by so many as among the nicest of the euro nations and has a huge underage murder problem and a legal system that protects the killers
Finally, the Iranian regime. As we learn more about the threats against soccer players seeking asylum ( ASYLUM!) and their families, the regime has leadership roles on human rights committees and finds protection from UN special rapporteurs on human rights ( are they called rapporteurs because they favor and make excuses for those who rape). Regardless of whether the regime survives, any bets on these global protectors of human rights ever actually protecting those who rights as humans have been violated.
But you have to admit, calling a group a Human Rights organization( or being a leader of such a group) sure does sound like it is deserving of respect . Just like so many other NGOs with swell sounding names whose missions are political and ideological. And often are subsidized by govt through tax exemptions and grants.
Fits well with the linked Candace Owens story; some innocuous-sounding group name can plaster over some really dark underpinnings. Coming immediately to mind is the “American Independent Party,” which received a ton of voter registrations in California. “I’m independent!” So I’m going to register in George Wallace’s offshoot of the Democrat Party.
Have to define what "winning" looks like first because Donald Trump does not think strategically. Nor does he think historically, geographically, or even rationally.
He does not connect actions he takes on one day to events that occur weeks later. He does not think about how his behavior in one place will change the behavior of other people in other places.
He does not consider the wider implications of his decisions. He does not take responsibility when these decisions go wrong. Instead, he acts on whim and impulse, and when he changes his mind—when he feels new whims and new impulses—he simply lies about whatever he said or did before.
No denying our society is rapidly unraveling in many ways. Another big way is due to our war with Iran. Rand Paul says “We can’t rebuild Iran, we have no money!” A major demand by Iran though for them to re-open the straight is for America to pay reparations for the damage done. Trump will never agree to that plus it’d be politically impossible since most Americans were opposed to this war. This means the war can only escalate with no end in sight. This does not bode well for our future or for the future of our world.
“We can’t rebuild Iran, we have no money!” Rand Paul on War in Iran. (11 min)
That’ll be immensely expensive and they don’t feel they should have to pay to repair the damage we’ve done. Reparations are a nonnegotiable demand to stop the war, not a request that they’d just like to have. Neither side will agree to this which means no end to war for the foreseeable future.
Propaganda is crazy. This article is titled "Are We Winning The War" and then lists blurbs that paint an image that the US and Israel and somehow in a favorable place.
I just wrote an article two days titled "The US is losing the war and that's a good thing" and I paint a different images using difference voices and different perspectives.
In that article, I show how Iran is clearly pushing back both the US and Israel in ways not expected, but its amazing how propaganda like this can make it seem as if we're in a good place.
I went on the FP Instagram account to see the comments of the article on "Zionism" and the public is destroying the FP. Some commenters in other articles have called out the FP as well, but the content continues.
This is propaganda at its finest and its a joy to witness when you have real life scenarios and case studies. Fascinating to watch.
Terry, this is my point. The argument is that one propaganda says Iran is on its last legs, but then why are we asking for help? Having ships on fire, can’t open the strait?
Propaganda can make one side win, while omitting other pieces of info that paint a different- or whole - story
People might remember the Birmingham police ban and how one MP, Nick Timothy kept the pressure up until the truth was revealed.
Nick Timothy is determined to fight Islamism. He has called the mass pray-in at Trafalgar Square for what it was -- an act of dominance, describing accurately the meaning behind the adhan. He is determined to fight Labour's attempt to impose the anti-Muslim hostility definition.
Starmer called for him to be sacked. Badenoch has refused. Nick Timothy is staying as the Conservative spokesman on Justice.

By "winning" do you mean enabling the depopulation of the human shields in S. Lebanon up to the Litani River?
Don't have to play golf. Just observe reality/current events. :)
Oh, trust me. I'm sure there's a massive list of things you and others on here don't know.
Things are going great, Terry. Better than Season 1. Just wait. You'll see.

Lol.

Good to hear from an insider who knows stuff that the rest of us don't!
Well, everybody says so on the Internet, so it must be true.

We don't need to "rebuild" Iran. They can pay their own way, once the oil/gas spigots are opened again.
That’ll be immensely expensive and they don’t feel they should have to pay to repair the damage we’ve done. Reparations are a nonnegotiable demand to stop the war, not a request that they’d just like to have. Neither side will agree to this which means no end to war for the foreseeable future.
Are you speaking for the Iranian people? How do you know what they "feel"?
If you are speaking for the regime, then yes, the regime has demanded reparations. Obviously that's not happening.

He just convinced a lot of us that his Substack is probably not worth reading.

Nick Timothy has written a good op ed explaining why this sort of behaviour must be stopped and why it is different from church bells ringing or reciting the Nicene Creed. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2026/03/19/islamic-domination-of-public-sphere-is-unacceptable/ or https://archive.ph/t3CQn
