“Trump resists acknowledging voters’ financial strain and has dismissed affordability concerns as a “hoax.”
Nice try TFP, but the hoax is press toadies like you trying to shift blame to the Trump administration for the unaffordability created by Biden, democrats in congress and the legion of lefty bureaucrats that president Trump is soon going to fire.
The serving British soldier who was tragically killed in Ukraine was named today as 28-year-old L/Cpl George Hooley of the Parachute Regiment. It was already known that a small number of British personnel are serving in Ukraine. He was killed in an accident away from the front lines where he had been observing a test of a new defensive capability.
The media and Democrats claimed during the run-up to last year’s election, that high prices were an illusion, despite the 20+ % compound inflation of the Biden Administration. Now that Trump is in office they want to blame high prices on him despite the fact that inflation is much lower and many costs, such as gas and, yes, eggs are also lower.
The Dems and their media lackeys are like arsonists who start a massive wildfire, then criticize the firefighters still struggling to contain the blaze for not rebuilding destroyed neighborhoods fast enough. Unfortunately, too many of our fellow citizens, rendered dumber by the 24-hour news cycle and social media, are falling for it.
The question with Miami is whether the Florida standards so carefully-crafted under Jeb!, Rick Scott, and Ronnie De can handle a Dem at the wheel for more than a few months. Color me Skeptical, but I’d imagine the citizenry is still able to prevent the disaster that’s befallen many other big cities.
Jasmine Crockett should serve as late-night TV fodder until next year, but the late-night hosts have largely lost the “right-leaning” part of the audience who’d chuckle at the material; they watched “Gutfeld!,” the news, and are now snoring.
I read this article when I was in fifth grade. Scared me straight for the rest of my life. The Lexington Ave story proves there are no simple answers, only people who really want to beat the habit.
Great link! Those addicts look much healthier and better dressed than the addicts on our streets today. I also scrolled down to the “Inside Charm School for Elevator Attendants” story. A different world!
It was a different world. One of my college papers was analyzing a story about a high school girl's preparation for a formal. (It was from the 50s. I'm not quite that old.) I'll check out the charm school. Thanks.
An "economic message" falls on deaf ears. It's what people see and pay and hear every day. Stocks are good but a lot of voters don't have stocks.
I'm noticing that grocery prices seem to be skyrocketing. The house next door was in a bidding war and sold for $300,000 over asking. They moved to a Republican state.
Prior to the 2024 election the Biden Administration and its media kept telling us how great the economy was, but people knew what they were seeing at the grocery store-- that's the baseline. The Democrats pivoted from DEI as a message to "affordability" -- their definition of affordability is redistribution rather than a healthy economy.
So somebody's got to get busy and find out what's going on with the grocery prices.
The miracle of compounding interest has been offset by the compounding of inflation. Although the rate of inflation has decreased, the Biden admin inflation is now built in and compounding.
This isn't about logic or parsing words. It's about perception and to an extent reality. In large part that's what drove the vote the last time and if nothing is done it will drive it again.
Trump needs to recognize affordability crisis not a hoax. My son engineer with 10 years experience laid off out of work for 4 months. His new job is as a contract worker for one year. My daughter has been unemployed for 2 years her field is copywriting, marketing. Fields that are being eliminated by AI. And yet Trump is a signing a bill to stop states from putting regulations on AI. Get out of Russia and start working on the on the issues in America the country he was elected to lead.
That sounds like unemployment rather than ‘affordability.’ Hard to tell—they just made up affordability as a measuring stick a couple months ago. It works for them because it isn’t a statistic.
Communists always seize land. As leftist protestors say, you can’t deport anyone from stolen land. A Somali who arrives in Toronto from Mogadishu is Canadian right away. Meanwhile, a white person whose family has lived in Canada for centuries is a colonizer. Carney will recommend MAiD for those who are evicted from their homes to help reduce carbon emissions.
“The charges landed even as President Trump moved to ease export limits on some of Nvidia’s most advanced chips, underscoring the intensifying fight over control of advanced AI technology.”

It is going to be so unbelievably obnoxious when these dishonest cretins blame Trump for the AI Bubble and the fallout from 60 years of Betrayal Caucus neocon fReE tRaDe.
As Miami goes, so goes the nation now? Really? Get a grip. Maybe it wasnt about republican versus democrat as much as the people of Miami wanted something different. They may have simply wanted a fresh face in government. And actually how far apart were the 2 candidates on issues? Is this new democratic mayor also a lover of the Castros and a Communist Cuba? Somehow I don't think so. Or does she love the Muslim Brotherhood and wants to fight De Santis about that? Somehow I don't think so. When democratic policies fail, she will be gone and the next mayor will go back to being a republican or whomever the Cuban Mafia want to win.
And as far as Trump's Presidential Library goes, its not like the city of Miami can stop him from buying the land it needs to be on and if they try to stop it, he does have a habit of suing and winning. Also, who really cares. He can build the library at Maralago or they can house it at a university.

Look up a picture of Higgins when you have a chance. She is the quintessential sociopathic covert narcissist Democrat Lady. We need to build a Mt Rushmore to commemorate the Democrat Women who destroyed the country while we are still able to pull of a project like Mt Rushmore.
“Rep. Jasmine Crockett, a progressive Democrat, has launched a Texas Senate bid, pitting her against state representative James Talarico, a rising star in the party, and jolting the Democratic primary.”

Talarico is an impulsive habitual blasphemer and is secretly one of the worst sociopathic manipulators in the country. I’m sure this is a scheme where Crockett, who is a Fed Crisis Actor, is there to make him seem centrist.
“Police in Goodyear, Arizona, have begun replacing hand-drawn suspect sketches with AI-generated images, aiming for more lifelike depictions that will attract public attention.”

Based on what we’ve seen from AI thus far I’m sure each suspect sketch will depict a white Christian man who pays taxes and isn’t gay.
“This holiday season, the community has brought back Santa Rosa Avenue with over 130 trees illuminated with thousands of lights—and offering a hopeful reminder of renewal after the devastation.”

The least hopeful people anywhere are the people who organized this light display because they had to pull 17 separate permits to set it up and were forced to name each tree after a child from Gaza.

Tyler is more of a techno-narcissist and if the guy who injected the fourth dose of the COVID shot into his foot tells you it’s a “hysteria” and tosses in another ‘you can tell I’m lying because I am using fancy words’ word like “zenith” or “nadir”, assume a catastrophe is in the works.

I do not recall any other president who was expected to drive prices, rather than inflation, down.

The phones and AI technology were released into society with no warnings or guardrails
Only a few ppl at the top understood the potential and even most of these ppl underestimated the power of the devices ,Social media, AI
Yes there are positives
The negatives to society however far outweigh the positives
Trying to repair the damage even as we told “ we must win the AI race “ is a fool’s errand
There is no race
Races have a finish line - so we know when the race is over and who won
How will we know ?
There is much hype to keep the tech bubble growing
It’s too big to fix on a societal level
Maybe individual families and communities can find a way to protect children and thereby themselves
Maybe not

He’s gotta agree, otherwise his class where the curriculum is AI generated, students’ papers are AI generated, and then AI graded would be cancelled.
