"The Real Fauci..." book by Kennedy is telling. Fauci is brutally corrupt, and has an evil God complex that needs to be criminally punished. He absolutely funded gain of function research in China, and this panel was just more of the same political talking heads' gaming the system.

Just another example of how our representatives are a useless gaggle of idiots.

Children. Children and young adults have paid the biggest price for this. National debt went sky high (even though most of the money didn't reaching working American's hands) and we will be paying that bill for generations. Children not understanding and learning basic facial cues because everyone was masked up. Babies that were never held by loved ones of family members. Human interaction set back 10 years. Iconic firsts for young adults like graduations, weddings, prom, sports, and just basic socializing. The mental health of young people in isolation for so long. The number of suicides, alcoholism, drug addiction, and domestic violence soared. Why? To protect and handful of already high-risk people? This makes me sick, and I think anyone who was in power that supported this crazy behavior should be stripped of any decision-making power they have. This was the biggest money grab and over reaction I have ever seen. Listen to the science. Not when the science is being presented by an entire entity after money and power.

Fauci is the embodiment of the administrative state- which manifests as arrogance. At the hearing he says he signs the grants, but does not read or understand them, thus is not accountable, rather someone has to sign them so when he signs them he is relying on experts - very smart people. When asked about accountability, Fauci smiles and does not answer.

Never ascribe to conspiracy that which can be ascribed to bureaucracy. This hearing should have been about dismantling the administrative state.

Have you not seen the videos of ballot stuffing?

The Democrats who spoke where among the stupidest people I have ever heard...this man, this long term, highly paid government leader, funded the research that caused Covid 19, interferred at every step with the protective measures that other science leaders suggested, did everything he could to cover up his trail...this jerk off needs to be indicted, tried and hung from the top of the Empire State Building...the Dems that celebrated this man were disgusting...

Well, if you never look for something you'll never find it.

I am of an opinion - opinion mind you, not fact - that this is only part of a longer term strategy by what were once called communists (now termed democratic socialists or progressives) to complete their long march through the institutions.

I'm a former DoD IT guy and have watched the USSR/Russia and China run through our networks like it was their own personal AOL. Given that the Asians (India/China/Russia) hold great animosity toward the west for centuries of oppression and resource depletion, and they form the largest race on the planet, IMHO this smells like revenge on a global, long-term scale.

Sadly, we're to focused where they want us to be: race, identity, distrustful of - well, everything.

Yes, sounds tin foil hat-ish, but the Asian play the long game. Russia invaded Ukraine in 2014, not 2022. We recognized China as a single country in 1974. Our misrule in India caused massive suffering and division during their independence.

Fortunately for (sadly for them) the havoc we wreaked in Africa and SA haven't come home to roost other than in massive immigration to Europe and USA. The Asians have 1st world governments and armies.

They are the ones to watch, make partners of, etc. since they are the ones that wish for our collapse. The globalization effort to make everyone interdependent has failed - our only recourse is to stop treating every country as our bi--- and make alliances

Bear in mind that "thanks You, Dr Fauci" yard signs started popping up as early as May 2020, when there was no vaccine, no plan of action, and the deaths had barely started.

There was a large, coordinated effort to glorify and exonerate Fauci from the very beginning, when he had done nothing to stop it and had no effective leadership for moving forward.

Who funded distributing those signs?

So if it’s a lab leak, is the CCP financially liable for the damage caused?

Why are our government officials so concerned about protecting China?

Frankly I am surprised that no tort lawyer here or in Italy has not tried to pursue some claims. Of course, sovereign immunity etc but one could argue that the activities of developing these viruses are intended to be commercial (more likely for offensive uses in war) and thus not subject to immunity. Alternatively one could argue that they are violations of various conventions against biological weapons. Not sure whether there is a private right of action but heck, courts do anything, don’t they?

The "both sides" stink comment is off the mark ...

"As for the Republicans, they have had one obsession for years: to show that Covid-19 was the result of a lab leak."

.. this is because the press (including largely this one) has not done its job. We need to both know the truth and have accountability.

Anyone watching senate or house hearings will see how fundamentally corrupt and lusting for power the democrats are. They are a threat to our freedoms.

There are so many touch-points now that divide us, but none are more clear than the govt's response to covid, and those are embodied by A. Fauci. His smug, insouciant and irresponsible behavior is a flaming bright star of why I, and so many others, no longer trust public health officials, nor even the medical establishment. He is a symbol for all that is wrong with the institutions that once were a bedrock of who we are. Now, it turns out, that he was grasping for power, covering his tracks, conspiring to "do science" that most scientists say shouldn't be done--and in control of one of the largest budgets in the world, let alone the U.S. As far as I'm concerned, he is a criminal. But what's that matter? Millions of people, represented in part by the Democratic party, trust him, thank him and are grateful for him. We are not the same.

Fauci said in his testimony that he doesn’t read the grant proposals that he funds.

That is an admission that he doesn’t do science.

I watched it yesterday. It was a hubris-intensive, humility-free free-for-all. Science is good. Thank God for it. But too much science turns scientists and politicians into power grabbers and, as it turns out, liars.

What we needed then and we still need now, is a leader who would call the nation to prayer. We were up against an unseen killer that took our loved ones.

Woodrow Wilson faced the epidemic of 1918 which was far worse. I know it was a different era, but why didn’t Trump, Pence, Biden, Harris—someone—call the nation to prayer. Wilson did. In 1918 he issued a call:

"It is therefore my duty to set aside a time and place for all to cease their work and assemble for prayer and entreat the Almighty God for His blessing on the nation, and to grant deliverance from the deadly plague that afflicteth our land."

No, they didn't call the nation to prayer. Instead, they shut churches and synagogues.
