While it's obvious that Tlaib is a dimwit whose moral compass is skewed by tribalism and religious nonsense, before we blame this specific instance of anti-semitic stupidity entirely on her, I want to point out that the author of the original article at the Detroit Metro Times is the one truly responsible. Go back and read that article, and you'll see that when Tlaib makes her dumb, self-righteous accusation, she is media-savvy enough to not go full anti-semite; she keeps her message focused on golden oldies like systemic racism, won't someone think of the children?, a Democrat betrayed us!, etc.
Then the author of the article, Steve Neavling, in a short follow-up paragraph writes, "Nessel is the first Jewish person to be elected Attorney General of Michigan."
That's it. He doesn't provide any other information on Nessel and he doesn't include any response from Nessel's office (I'm assuming he didn't contact them to ask for one). He just wants you, pious reader, to know that she's One of Them. Juuuust in case you were wondering what kind of monster would dare enforce the law.
At the bottom of the original article is a follow-up article by the same author, Steve Neavling, published after his original story blew up in Tlaib's face. In this new article, he blames the national media and politicians for putting words in Tlaib's mouth. And yes, technically that's true, but only because HE created the final version of Tlaib's statement by adding the "she's a Jew!" sentence. At no point in his follow-up article does Neavling say, "My bad, I overdid it there with the Jew pointing and as a result I made Tlaib look even dumber and more malignant than she already is, and I wish I had an editor who cared about journalism because I am an activist who does not."
In other words, this is yet another example of activist-driven social disorder. It's another data point in the argument against blindly trusting any journalist, because the profession is wormy with activists. He wanted to stir up sh*t. He succeeded. And judging by his second article, either he doesn't see that it's his fault or he doesn't care.
And I don't want to add this last paragraph because I like the Free Press, but: maybe this FP article shouldn't have been written, either? Or it should have been focused as much on media criticism as on Tlaib's already well-known moral astigmatism? You shouldn't let bad actors like Steve Neavling off the hook, because they're the ones destroying the public's trust.
No, it's not. Tlaib has been doing this since she's been elected. As a now Michigan resident, and a former resident of Portland, Oregon, I can tell you just how bad it's gotten for Jews under "Progressives." Tlaib insinuated from the start that it was Nessel's background was the only reason that they were being prosecuted. (They assaulted the police.) This is the same reason I left lily-white Portland; upper class elites receive no punishment for setting fire to businesses and police stations, and nobody will prosecute them. The only time antifa was successfully prosecuted was when they attacked people in Oregon City (Clackamas County.) If only they had attacked people in Multnomah County, they would not have been prosecuted. All people who commit crimes, especially against the police need to be punished, including the upper class crap coming out of elite universities; the courts coddle them. They should throw the book at them, with no parole; maybe they'll learn that they have no more rights than anybody else.

I could vaguely tell I was in a fog of Gell-Mann amnesia after this article, thanks for helping me shake out of it.
I also stand further indebted to you for introducing me to "moral astigmatism", which is going in my quiver forthwith.
